The walk through video of Sialia's 57' electric yacht "DEEP SILENCE" generated interest, excitement, and a host of questions. I spent a few minutes with the founders of the company to find out more.
It's so important that guys like this push the boundaries of technology, as it stands there is a clear place for short range boat, with technology developments this is bound to push into longer range sectors, maybe working with complementary technologies. Keep them coming David and team
Hope the boats are faster than their website.
Thanks for flagging this. We will make sure the acceleration of our site will soon significantly exceed the yachts 0-20knot time of only 7 seconds! 😉
oh so silent is the price......
Lithium-ion batteries??? Oh, that should be safe. Just ask Tesla. Too bad these guys don't PROPERLY describe the danger of lithium-ion batteries and water.
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Exactly...or the coal they use to charge it! LOL...or what happens when it is hit by lightning
Unfortunately, I see this company being hot and making 3 or 4 boats and then the whole thing coming apart due to personality clashes and the disparity in ages. The other issue I see is that they want to develop a yacht for obviously younger people who embrace this technology and have it be a go fast dayboat. Thus you need to sell a more expensive yacht that a younger peraon will choose over something like Candela and not have the availability to go really far and be limited on how long you can be out and what systems you can run AND the other thing is Silent yachts offers a variety of catamarans and now other yachts and boats for people to use and they already have name recognition and are considered the pioneers in that space. And Salia sounds sort of like Silent when he said it and if people just Google 'electric yachts'...they aren't first. Silent amd Candela. Still love you like a friend though 😊
Just think what happens to the company WHEN, NOT IF, the lithium-ion batteries explode and catch fire. Google 'Tesla fires'.
