I'm addicted to this song. Even without knowing that Ringo's on this tune, the song's funeral dirge-esque melody is reminiscent of The Beatles "Free As A Bird" - as well as the long intro before the slamming of the cymbals and his great heavy-hitting of his kit throughout. It's just an all-around-beautiful tune.

Benmont Tench played this on his radio show on Tom Petty Radio, SiriusXM Channel 31. He said that Ringo played drums on this song. I think Ben himself played organ. He was hinting at himself when he talked about who played organ. I knew the name Jenny Lewis when I saw it on the display in my dad's van. She was Haley Brooks in the 1989 film "The Wizard," one of my favorite movies. I had read about her being a singer and songwriter on Wikipedia, after watching "The Wizard" on HBO. This is a fantastic song. Beautiful job, Jenny.

How do you know it was a B3? It could have been a C3, A100, RT3, D152, A105, A101...Point is, a bunch of Hammonds make the exact same noise, because they generate tones exactly the same way... Does sound great. I'll give you that...

Of course, in the business the generic term in use (at least among those who have to load out every night) is B3.
The point, I think, is that Tench plays the shit out of that machine.

I have no idea who mixed this but they have serious issues with their hearing in the 2k-4k range. This hurts like hell to listen to. Kinda sad because the song is decent, but the production renders it unlistenable. Also the drums are phasey - the mixer obviously couldn't hear the latency issues. I'm not being mean but he really needs to get checked out - he probably has no idea his ears are this bad.
