Let us start by saying that to make general statements one would need a general screening of the population and that this has never been done.
Let us add the fact that there is no uniform population in the South of Italy. Greek culture spread in pre-Roman times, but culture is one thing, which also spreads through contact, and genetics is another. So, it is true that the Greeks arrived in southern Italy, but they did not settle everywhere. So, it is true that there was a Mycenaean (and also Minoan) presence, but this is but one of the ancestral components of the southern population. Moreover, the few existing studies also seem to point to a very ancient component coming from the Caucasus, via Turkey and Greece. To call this component Middle Eastern is a small modern bias. Of course, it 'also' exists in the Middle East, but after migration from the Caucasus, which is not in the Middle East.

Can you elucidate? Two words are not enough, friend. Most UA-camrs use artificial personae, AI. I guess to protect themselves or have multiple channels appearing as being made by separate individuals.

I have found, and you can too, that today Greeks are sorted not in Balkan ethnicity but in Greek and Souyh Italien ethnicity by MyHeritage. If it is so, ancestors of today, Greeks have invaded Balkan from South Italy. If you look into Greek genetic profile, they have two main gaplogroup at equol amount around 20% each. These haplogroups are J2a and R1b-ht35 haplogroup. J2a is a haplogroup of Anatolian Greeks. The Near East nations, and the Middle East nations have the same haplogroup and Jwes and Palestinians are of yhe same haplogroup.. Haplogroup R1b-ht35 is haplogroup dominant in Armenians and Aserbeigans. It is from Caucasus. How ancestors of today Greeks invaded South Italy, setled with so many Greeks colonies. The same architecture is still like in South Italy. How ancestors of Greeks from Anatolia and Caucas invaded and settled so many colonies in South Italy. How do Greeks get to South Italy from Anatolia and Caucasus? Genetic is real scientific staf and can not be faked or falsified.

J2 was introduced into Europe by Neolithic farmers. R1b is one of those Steppe haplogroups from the Steppe lands, the area that borders Europe and Asia. The Greeks that occupied parts of Southern Italy and Sicily did not come from Anatolia or the Caucasus but from mainland Greece before Greece was invaded by Slavic speakers whose homeland in now modern Poland and modern Ukraine.
