A pretty useful project in any shop that beats wrestling with tape rolls when only one hand is free. Years ago I made mine with the non-slip mat and the bottom being a 2 inch deep closed-in box filled with sand so the dispenser stays put. However, I was impressed by the cutting of all the materials in the most wasteful way possible from plywood to non-slip mat. You must be getting free materials from the wholesalers.
This is a slick little project. It would be really nice if Mike would post the pattern...not that it is a hard one to make, but this is the sort of project that I would like to have my students make because it rewards effort but also will tolerate beginner errors.
I would give that 2-3 thumbs up... BUT!? UA-cam does not have the option... Starting to see a pattern here... Stumpy Nubs... Will he fell off the Mustache Mike tree... And as they say... That apple did not roll to far away from the tree... Great Job... Mr. Mustache Mike.
Thank you very much Mustache Mike for all those nice videos. I do have a question what is the name of your rotary tool that you do use in some of your videos for sanding and grinding your wood ? Thank you very much for your support.
The proof is in the putting. If you don't show us that the dispenser dispenses tape in a pleasing fashion, then its impossible to know if this a good one to build. Who knows, it could work like c%#&p. Maybe the tape doesn't tear easily, one handed. Show us the working finished product when you do a project, Mike. Please.
@@StumpyNubs OMG! Mustache Mike! Didn't think anyone would answer! You could do a " 5 Years Later" follow up 30 second video! Or, tell me: how do YOU like it? Work good?
Nice project, Mike! Heaven knows you always have a need for painter's tape in the shop, and this is a great way to store and use it.
I like the idea of using the drawer mat as a grippy bottom!
Nice little project, and it looks great. Thanks for sharing!
For the tear-off blade, try junior hacksaw blades. Easy to trim to length, and can be 'dropped' into a mounting slot to align it easily.
Nice tip Mark!

Thanks, the scroll saw won't clock sawdust anymore. Some cares to make something with it.
