    I got one of these bags. It’s such a great thought-out design. Using an inner bag with your clothes to pad the bike is just brilliant. 👍

    That bag for the Brompton is pretty slick! Looks like it works very well. Good idea on using the pipe insulation on those somewhat exposed parts. I travel with a full size carbon fiber frame road bike. I have used both hard shell and soft shell bike cases. I like the hard shell case better and the wheels on it make it very easy to move around. I always use pipe insulation and bubble wrap when packing for both hard shell and soft shell cases. I mostly travel to SE Asia with it so we are talking about long flights and multiple airports. I've never been charged extra for the bag by international carriers. I have been charged by some certain airlines in the US when flying domestically.

    What a great vlog. I have just subbed. We tend to use the B&W case when we fly with our Bromptons but we always have the issue of having to get to the hotel before we can get our bikes out. I guess that bag can be folded and carried on the front block if you want to ride from the airport. Brilliant! It was a well presented and informative vlog so I look forward to watching your other videos. Happy trails. Mal.

      Yeah, this is a very neat solution for those that truly want a full Bromp-packing experience. I've seen many attach it on their rear rack or use the carrier block.
      Looking at your channel name, are you in Montreal by chance? I am Canadian too but based in Seattle now.

    • @BromptonHabitude-fe1in
      @BromptonHabitude-fe1in 2 місяці тому +1

      Yes, looks like a great solution and I'm sure it'll be a solution that we're likely to adopt in the near future. No, we're UK based. That said, I do have many relatives in Quebec so I really need to get over there. We have another YT channel named, 'Campervan Habitude' but it's focused on our campervan builds and excursions so I have recently set up this channel so I don't bore my regulars with vlogs they're not interested in. It'll also give me an opportunity to get more Brompton content out there. Cheers for getting back to us. 👍

    That extra little garment bag is pretty sweet. If you travel light you could bring enough clothes for a long trip.

    • @BestSideCycling
      @BestSideCycling  8 місяців тому +2

      Yes! It's a legit touring set up that I've seen people do attaching this big bag to their rear rack.

    I used to fly to PDX a lot for work. It would have been a blast to have my own bike for those trips.

    I am from Phoenix, hope you liked it here. I have flown using a dimpa bag. It works fine but my wife didn’t like how they looked so I bought the Vincita as well. Looking forward to traveling with it.

      Main plus of this set up is definitely the wheels. They roll really well

    • @char5477
      @char5477 5 місяців тому

      I can see having the 4 wheels to roll it and then to take those wheels off would be very helpful. I currently have a triangular Brompton bag which I have flown with many times, but it only has 2 rear wheels and it's heavy to wheel the bag and balance it when walking.

    Thanks for the informative vid. Just a question to you or your viewers about this bag. How secure is it? Can you padlock the zipper tags to stop things coming out or unwanted hands coming in when the bag is out of sight? Keep up the great work and greetings from the UK!

    • @BestSideCycling
      @BestSideCycling  6 місяців тому

      Thanks for the question. In terms of security there isn't any specific built features but with the two additional straps it's not as simple as just unzipping the bag. The main two zippers probably can be locked with a small travel lock but any prepared thief could probably as easily just cut open the bag

  • @pulpmysteryfan

    Dues the bags design require that you remove the wheels from the bag at check in? Ideally I’d have thought it would be easier to just leave the wheels on.

    • @BestSideCycling
      @BestSideCycling  6 місяців тому

      You probably don't have too, but I just wanted to minimize chance of damage to them! They are really easy to take off and put on with their design.

    • @BestSideCycling

    Nothing beats travelling with a Brompton as a carry on (shoutout @bromptonmafia for the inspiration). But will carry a dimpa bag in case i need to gate check.

      I haven't beat the airlines at this game yet; hit or miss, mostly misses. I have a T line so weight is not a problem even for Asian airlines 15lbs weight limit. Please share your story and any trick you employed.
