    Finally the only guy that actually describes and demonstrates the front panel dust filters.

    After having this case for 4 years now, I was trying to lift the top bezel and broke 2 clips right away. Other than that quite happy with the case. Good video, thank you.

    Thanks good review, I wanted a discrete and capable case for a gaming PC. This fits nicely.

    I guess it's intended to just be quiet and cool, but I was kinda hoping for a smaller Dark Base 900, or like you mentioned an mATX version. Still, it looks stylish. PS. the new intro is nice but that mobo probably shouldn't be producing bubbles or glowing circuits for that matter...

    Thankyou for this video, I learned a great deal about this case. Likely I can replace the 120mm fans on my 320 cougar poseidon at the top with low profile 120's. I find your videos no-nonsense; and you're very professional, thanks. However, I feel by using a corsair h110 280mm on the front (kraken g12, RTX 2060s), and a 320mm Cougar Poseidon gt (fx-8350) up top: That my intake will be hindered. I will probably place a 120mm PWM blower on the back that is 28dba, and I will employ 3 80mm rgb intake fans in one of the drive bays. The other bay will house extra USB 3.1/2.0 slots. Maybe fans can perhaps go into the disassembled HD bay also. I have to avoid bifurcation do the lack of bios support; but found a good splitter PSIE 8x that will be enough with PCIE 2.0 to have two PCIE 3.0 ssd's (/w 4 lanes ea.). Will be keeping the rest of the gear and moving onto an Asus Sabertooth R2.0/gen 3.0 with PCIE 3.0 x16 slots available. Hard to find; But no TPM is a boost to power, as is the lack of sata3 cache supplemented by the CPU, much less the lack of DDR4 microsecond latency by the RAM itself. The tower is used for audio and video processing; making the older hardware ideal for realtime deployment, even on stage as a digital signal processor.

    The thing about mounting the AIO seems more of a motherboard issue. Some X99 motherboards have the RAM slots extremely close to the edge, something like 1 cm, whereas others have the RAM slots 2-3 cms from the edge. All of Gigabytes X99 boards seems to have been laid out with only a single cm from the RAM slots. All of this was eyeballed by looking at the width of the EPS connector lol.
    I don't get why you didn't just slap it in the front though, seems there is plenty of space even with the HDD cages installed, unless you were planning on push pull.

    Good review, I assume the bad cable management is due the non-transparent side panel.

    Is it wide enough for Noctua NH-U12A fan?

  • @Vladek16

    but... the 240 rad can fit between the HDD and the front panel, because fans are on the over side (out of the case : between the platic cover and the outside of the metal case)

      If you build your PC that way, be sure to send us a photo so we can see the finished result.

    I so agree with you with some stuff like cable management could be better and case should be higher for the fans or radiator and also if you have bigger CPU cooler it could be the issue as well. Nice case but they should design it better. I currently have NZXT Phantom 240 but the issue is lots of stuff from inside and outside are build from plastic and I am trying to find case which has stuff from aluminium. This case looks good but not enough space so it is out of picture for me. I am still searching.

      "if you have bigger CPU cooler it could be the issue as well."
      I have Dark Rock 4 Pro as CPU cooler. It's humongous and fits well in this case.

    Do you recommend this, or SilentBase 600? I'm planning to transplant my i7-4790k, gtx780 with ATX board and optical drive into silence oriented case, since I don't play games anymore.

    If the AIO wont fit with that ram then just use lower profile ram. Rocket science it a'int.

    • @KitGuruTech
      @KitGuruTech  7 років тому

      Up to a certain point, yes. If the spec of the case saId 'compatible with RAM up to xxxmm height' then fine. The G.Skill TridentX stands about 40mm tall whereas Corsair Vengeance LPX is about 30mm so it is tall but not huge.

    • @TheMojophotos
      @TheMojophotos 7 років тому +1

      I don't think any case manufacturers give out compatibility warnings for ram. I would be interested to know if the air cooler you used in this build would fit with all 4 RAM slots populated with the G Skill? If it didn't is the case at fault?

    • @KitGuruTech
      @KitGuruTech  7 років тому

      Actually all eight RAM slots were populated with G.Skill although you cannot really tell in the photos. An air cooler may overhang the area around the CPU in which case a warning about vertical clearance is legitimate. Many cases state that you can install a GPu up to a certain length and sometimes give advice about the power supply. Very often case manufacturers say you can install a certain length of radiator up to a certain thickness. Most All In One radiators are slender (25mm or 30mm) but some custom loop radiators are up to 60mm thick. In this instance be quiet! could have either advised that low profile RAM is appropriate or they could have made the case taller. I vote for the second approach.

    • @TheMojophotos
      @TheMojophotos 7 років тому

      Yes, but you are missing the point. Its not the case manufacturers responsibility to give out warnings that in some circumstances certain RAM might be too tall for a given AIO to fit in the case. There are so many variables this would just be impracticable and to be quite frank, ridiculous. Its up to the user to research all parts they plan to use are compatible. Corsair vengeance RAM is probably the most popular RAM on the market today and if this is used the problem just does not exist. There are many air coolers on the market that would most likely not fit with that G Skill RAM. I built a system last year that used a motherboard with a shroud over the IO ports and this would not allow the AIO I chose to fit in the roof of the case I had. Was this the fault of the case? was it the fault of the motherboard? was it the fault of the AIO? Yes, in a perfect world, they could make the case bigger so it would fit. They could make all cases the same size, all ram the same size, all motherboards the same size etc etc but this would be rather boring.

      I own the silent base 800 case from be quiet, suffers from the same stupid issue with the radiator support, and if you look at the outside of the base, it has alot of wasted space and not thought out well, internally its alot worse, there case products imo, not that good

      basically its a form factor which is the size of your motherboard. basic computer terminology in terms of building a computer.
