Chris Pratt, thank you for finding the time to record this review for us!
Yury Kazantsev never knew star lord did PC case reviews
No problem hes getting paid very well for this
🤣🤣🤣
Omg...🤦♂
😂😂😂😂😂
I was worried about front no mesh panel, but looks like temperatures can be really great even without it. I like how they did simple, well build, good looking case with option to get no tempered glass. This could be a perfect case, not that everyone dream about, but that everyone have and enjoy.
In case people are wounding, the reason the fan relocation works so much is that with only a single fan up front, the fan is mostly just recirculating air in the front of the case with those huge cutouts for more fans being there
Ah I totally miss your case reviews but I don't blame you though since the case industry has been Very Very stale at the moment
I know how you feel, I used to very much look forward to the case reviews but like you said the market has crapped out this year and not much "new" and mostly just slight changes to current and past models...
Depends what you call stale. If you review, correction "promote" always the same brands, it might seem that the market is stale.
Corsair be like : do we even make cases bruh ?
Kirito 101 corsairs new case was such a disappointment tho so far I got the evolv x and it’s my favorite so far
@@BassLegendYT Hmm, Phanteks, for a Dutch company, it's hard to find their sub brand Metallic Gear in Europe. Sad, coz those seemed to be nice cases.
Your cinematography is way beyond what I expect to see on UA-cam
Smallish case with rear 140 fan, thank you BeQuiet.
4:56 lovely effect... still the best looking videos from HW Canucks
Dam I love your videos and the new plant!!
Thanks dude :) Just watched your Huntsman TE and totally agree! Such a good keyboard. Love the new switches.
-D.
I built a new system in a Pure Base 500 two months ago and recently tried out the mesh top panel instead of the hard top panel and, while I didn't actually do any rigorous temperature testing and comparing, the airflow passing through the top panel can be perceived noticeably better with the mesh top. So despite the temperature tests done in this video (wonderful video btw, huge fan of the channel!) I believe that the mesh top does actually allow more air to pass through than the hard top panel. Perhaps even more so with a fan that can achieve higher pressure values such as the Silent Wings Lineup instead of the Pure Wings.
That thing is sweet! Thank god they got rid of the orange. It kept me from considering them. I'll kick down an extra $15 for white with a window. It's a great quality, great looking case...
I'll sacrifice the price of a few beers to have that thing in my home, quiet - great looking, good thermals, sitting next to it everyday. It strikes a good balance. Extra $15 is nothing - especially for what you get.
Great video. Another great job.
Agreed. Great case :)
-D.
The b-roll lighting looks really good in this video!
Using the BMPCC4K with RAW video 😀 such a good image 👏
-D.
Perfect case for somebody who is over all the rainbow bs. I think I'll get it. Thanks a bunch!
I decided to go with this case for my new build because of this review! One thing I didn't quite get though is if the results were with the front fan mounted to the top AND no panels on the top (neither of them) or if he used the silenced top with that and got those results. Really want the best airflow possible there :) I actually also bought two other AF focused fans so I'm hopeful that thermals will be under control :)
Hey, Dmitry. I am truly impressed by this case. I haven't been impressed since the Corsair Air 540/740 series of cases. But, this one is a very nice design and I would get it for a future build if the Air 540 begins to show it's age.
Curious if you're still using the 540? I still am in my main machine. Just picked up a used system today built in a pure base 500 and the plate that you mount 2.5" drives to only allows for short gpus. Put my evga 980ti in to test the system and it was maybe 1/8" too long.. I don't consider this to be a large card. Considering doing some trimming with a dremel.
Quiet Foam... Yes... Small... Yes... No RGB... Yes... No fan controllers or hubs... Yes... No crap... Yes... Clean and simple looking... I Love It... Great review... Thanks...
Thumbs up if you love the way Dimitri says FEHN :D
Lol... It's FAN!
-D.
Fehn-tiks sounds wrong said any other way.
Bought it a few days ago. Had a CM Silencio 550 and yes it is really quiet. Even compared to the Silencio which had also sound-damping material on all sides. But this one is much better.
good to know. was looking for the comparison between those two.
Also looking to upgrade from my Silencio 550. The thing has brought be nothing but pain with the insanely under-powered stock fans and poor extensibility. Not to mention the sound damping material just making the cooling exponentially worse.
Que tal las temperaturas?? Sirve para gaming!?
@@comandopcero233 I need the same answer ^^ What are the temps, please ?
i dont think dimitry does real justice to this case. the materials are actually super strong the metal itself is nice and thick. the tolerances are really good too, the alignments are perfecf. everything is thought out very well by whoever designed this case. trust me guys, its a dream to build in this.
be quiet is getting better and better with their cases
I'd like to see this design as a premium Silent Base version with integrated fan control and no plastic
Me too, I'd love a compact silent base mid tower. A lot of people especially gamers don't need 8 hard drive cages, the 2 in the basement are more than enough for most.
This is exactly the type of review what I wanted. Gonna get my case tomorrow then. Thank you!
I love it but if they make an "Airflow Edition" and modify the front panel, I'll buy it for sure!
Nfortec Krater
They won't. That's the sad part. :'(
CoolerMaster Nr400
They won't because it's against be quiet!'s philosophy. Quiet is the most important part and that's definitely okay.
fractal design meshify c is that
Thx for the temperature test! It's great and very informative!
Best case reviewer on UA-cam HANDS DOWN! and its not even close.
lol, i guess you never discovered gamersnexus?
Got this case today, very quiet & beautiful. but it's bigger than what i expected.
I just built mine last spring. Now I want this!
You know what? I'm about to say it!
I don't care about RGB!
BLASPHEMY! SHUN THE NAY SAYER, SHUN!

@GamingTech ID Damn, never knew there are more gay people than straight people.
I bought me this case yesterday evening ;D
Because I think it´s so elegant and smooth and its a fair Price.
What's the price!?
Tony Velasquez $60 - $80 I think
Where? I can't find it on Amazon or Newegg
Boschi where were you able to buy it ?
Looks nice for a case at its price point. beQuiet always makes some legit stuff. With a full array of fans mounted it would look and cool better as well at the cost of a bit more noise. I don't think most people only run two case fans. (Or shouldn't...)
I got this case for my Ryzen 5900X and RTX 3090 build... I'm getting very poor temp performance. Granted, both GPU and CPU are overclocked and while playing BF5, the case is puling 1000W from the wall, but still, I don't think that this case circulates air all that well at all.
I don't think it's related to fans either. I got 5 fans in total. 2 front intakes, 1 rear exhaust (all beQuiet Silent Wings 2 140mm) and a 240 AIO cooler in exhaust config at the top. I'm willing to believe that I'm just pulling too much power to be able to cool it efficiently but when I exit a game, it takes about 5 minutes for temperatures to drop down to 50C and stablize. And when i check the cases, the temperature from the outside with an IR thermometer, the case gets up to 40C in 22C ambient temp.
Yeah it's not meant for air circulation really. This case was designed for a multimedia build that is fairly low yield of heat.
I've just bought this case in the white finish. I've fitted 3x120mm fans in the front, and moved one of the 140mm fans to exhaust out of the top at the rear of the case. Unfortunately I haven't finished the build yet, because I'm still waiting for my B550 Vision D and Ryzen 5 5600x to arrive. I must admit that I'm worried about the small size of the front vents, because I think that the air flow will be restricted, but I'll see how the case performs later on.
Other than that, I love the layout of the case. Component installation and wiring should be very easy, and overall I think it's a nice case. The white colour will compliment the Vision D mobo very well.
Can you give a review 1 year later? I would like to use it with 5600..
I really miss the type c - I’m in the market for a new build to replace my i7-4771 that shows age - but having no type c for the next 5-6 years makes no sense
Guess h510 will be the one - thx for the hint
Really, just mod it lol.
iFrameboy well I’m not the best at that - and if I was to mod it would be a paint job - but my wife thinks I’m behaving like a teenager then ;)
Can't you just get a USB type c pcie card?
Jacob Moreno well I were talking about front panel type c. In 2019 all MB I look at have type c on the IO - it’s just a convenient to have it on the front too - like stuff I feel like I need to have for a 👍 pc.
I got this case last week build it with an MSI B550A-pro AMD Ryzen 7 5800x first I did the case stock 1 an front 1 fan rear and a Icy Chill 240G AIO rad on top. CPU hit the 80/82 C then I put the front fan top rear like you did and put AIO in front and yes the pump is below the rad's out/intake ;) temps drop to 75 C under full load (100%) mining monero and it's been that for the last week. Mining monero is a nice stress test is this way. For noise I did leave the white panel on vents at the rear.
Whenever I think of BeQuiet I can only think of Dmitri doing his ads for the Dark Base Pro 900 a few years ago at the video beginnings 😂
Man i really love that pc case i might buy it when my little 15 year old self get's money once i heal up from my broken ankle, but as of right now im just gonna dream, lol
Nobody cares about your age. You’re not special for being 15, go get laid.
nice review. i have this case over a year,as for the temps,,if you replace the 3pin fans that comes with the case and put 2x140 pwm in the front ,1x140pwm back and 1x140pwm on top,,difference on temps is huge, even with the solid top filter is great.pwm fans are the way to go on your builds guys,3pin fans are useless.if you gonna buy it just replace and add more pwm fans.this case is amazing for its price.
You can regulate a 3pin fans rpm if your motherboard's bios supports it.
@@JamesVonRaynor Exactly, only thing is you can't get the rpm's that low. But they only spin at 900rpm so 70% is dead silent. 100% you can hear it a bit.
Just found my perfect case! Compact enough for our newly remodelled house, looks good but doesn't compromise on all the necessities. My oversized Tecware Edge is saying goodbye.
Nice, great option for sure!
-D.
i love the BeQuiet! cases, with only one caveat, on some lineups (600) a regular length motherboard screw could be screwed in a sata ssd installed behind the motherboard.
most else, very nice!
dark base 900 has 7+ drive bays (twice for sata ssd-s)
hmm.. moving the front fan to the top will create negative pressure, right? so more dust, in addition to the increased noise
I guess it's a matter of weighing the two up and seeing which is more important for you
great review - definitely sold on this case!
Oh nice! This may be a potential choice for my “Mr.X” build. All black, a bit of grey, zero RGB and a shootable fedora 🤠.
What happens with temperatures and noise when you add two more 140 mm silent wing 3s in the front in addition to the top of the case.
Literally my dream case.
My dream case would be a slightly longer fractal design meshify c with usb c at the front.
Yeah the length is what is keeping me from buying it too.. I'm looking at the nzxt510 or maybe even this one..
Looks very good, actually planning to maybe pick up this for switching my old wrong case decision system
Maybe I'm overthinking this, but the natural tendency is for heat to rise, and in spite of the CPU cooler blowing toward the back, wouldn't it make more sense not to take the front fan and move it, but to instead take the rear fan and move it to the rear top position? Then we would have cooler air coming in from the front and we'd be sucking most of the heat straight up where it tends to go naturally. I would think this would be better, especially for systems using AMD style CPU coolers.
I was all about this idea too, but I've made many tests (and you can find many of YT, I think) and I've come to the conlusion that "passive airflow" (it's called natural convection ?) is playing almost no role in a computer case. Or at least in a "normal" PC case. Heat rising over something colder is actually only noticeable for really hot things, with hundreds of degrees coming into play. For the small things and small T°C deltas we have in computers, you really need to force the flow if you want some decent cooling effects.
Of course, you also can buy some of those fun and fancy "full passive cooling" cases, but usually, they are very heavy, very expensive (there's one video on Linus Tech tips about those things) and they actually don't work so good with toasty CPUs (don't think about a passively-cooled 14900K lol). Might be enough for a 5800X3D or a 7900 non-X though.
Sorry if I was late XD
Best case in years, all hail the go-to king.
thanks for the review man.
I think I'm gonna buy it for my new hardware
:)
Great review. I love the open top, perfect for mounting a radiator or pumpcombo on the outside.
excellent excellent excellent review! very good job man.
Looking to downsize my PC case cause I'm not sure I like having a hulking beast on my desk anymore... Starting to outgrow window panels as well.
Need to see this case in person myself. It looks really compact and I need a full ATX compact mid tower case to accommodate my new motherboard.
That teaser of the 011 Dynamic XL.
This look a good case but so far I have not found another case that I fell in love with as much as Corsair's Crystal 570x white did.
it is a great compromise... i really like it, i replace the meshify c.
good job be quiet! you almost made me regret buying my Phanteks Eclipse p350x. Definitely a competitive case in the budget case category.
Still buying the meshify c
I've built over 50 gaming PC's using the Meshify C, never one complaint.
For me its the best value case at the price point by far.
@@cartoonhead5819 What about Meshify S2?
@@tadejdanev5030 for me its just to big. I dont need that extra space. So spending another 40€ on it would just be a waste. (Also I just really like small cases)
@@feschber makes sense....i have R4 atm so i'm used for bigger ones, and one german site has sales which makes M S2 almost similar price as classic M C.
@@tadejdanev5030 Ich bin auch deutsch welche Seite meinst du denn? Auf mindfactory kostet es atm 30€ mehr
So basically its a slightly bigger Meshify/Define C. I really like the size & looks tbf
Yes and better designed by far. I have the meshify c for my gaming rig and although a well built case, things like no 140mm rear fan, the flimsy little top dust filter. etc all drag it down a bit. The pure base 500 I have in my office pc is flawless
Sees like a good case to compare with Corsair iCue 220T and NZXT 510i. A problem may be the front IO is restricted to USB 3.0 and modern MBs often come with USB 3.2 and USB C.
Hey thanks for this review. I actually recently did 2 builds with this case. I was looking for a simple design, no RGBs, and compact. The main worry I had was the front panel being solid instead of mesh. So, I ended up actually removing the interior side filters off of the front panel, in hopes of creating better intake flow. I also installed two additional 140 mm Noctua case fans: one at the top back (exhaust) and the other at the front (intake). So, two stock fans plus 2 additional.
Overall, I think it works. I'll have to actually measure the temp while gaming and maybe edit this comment later...
how'd it go, what temps does it have now
@qwertyuiopasdfghj001 it's good, well under 80°C while gaming at high settings. I have 4 case fans, 2 intake and 2 exhaust. The 2 exhaust are back panel and top-back panel, while both intakes are at the front. The CPU cooler I got is a pretty beefy one: Noctua NH-D15 .
I was just about to buy a new PC build for gaming... I ended up with a basket of $4000... so I decided to JUST buy this case as a start... will take me a year to get a complete build lol
Amazing case I just bought one of these. The build quality is supreme. BUT you are wrong for a few things - the air flow is not good at all. The hot air from the VGA is blasting directly to the glass and has nowhere to go. The case fans ate uncapable to catch this 85deg C air and extract it effectively. Aaaand other air flow flaws
There are other problems with this case, but the air flow is the biggest one.
When I watched this video before to buy the case I thought "well, this is an honest review".... NOW I am 100% sure this is sponsored. Well played!!!
Dual radiator support at that price point is amazing!
cant wait for bequiet's take on smaller form factor enclosures
this is probably gonna be the case i go with, for my build.
thanks very much for a thorough review, specially putting it agains a stack of other cases..and testing the fan on top, as well.
My build is to be a Audio Production rig.
Do you know if the noise level increases with a glass side panel?
(i assume it would)
thanks again !
Fractal started this trend with the define c and slowly others are following like Corsair I cue 220 and this. I really like it and probably I will swap my define c non window for this.
Which case will u choose between this and meshify C? Help me please D:
Meshify C, mesh is always better
Well I was sold on this but in typical Canadian fashion it's not for sale anywhere in this country atm - end of Nov. 2019.
The case is not bad, but the front have very bad air intake. I squished a custom 360mm radiator for cpu cooling in the front and a rtx 2080ti msi gaming x trio. Its a 15 °C temperature drop at the gpu if i remove the front panel.
Love your videos guys !! Is it possible to be notified when this case becomes available ? I really like it 👍
Just bought this case, in love haha!
Gonna wait to see reviews for the new Phanteks this year.
Hi hardware, I'm looking for a good and cheap PC because I'm having money problems and I have never owned one before but do you have any suggestions of good cheap PC's....thank you for your time.
Just curious will there be lian li xl review
Looks like he has it in a box there at the beginning - I'm sure it's on the way.
Heyyy been waiting for the new Metallic Gear cases, looking forward to the review. Did you receive or hear anything about the Neo V2 cases (the updates to their original Neo cases)?
It's a few years later, and the DX and FX version of this case have a USB-C 3.1 port on the top I/O panel. Have they updated this version? The Be Quiet website does not indicate it.
I also like the pure BASS 500...
Man I'm really stuck on deciding between this and Phanteks p600s. Any thoughts on which is overall better?
Now that's a sick PC Case
Thanks for that review dude! I do love this case, how ever! I would love to see a Pro Version with built it lighting.
Is there any noise difference between the tempered glass panel and the non-tempered glass panel?
Not really. The sound profile will be slightly different yes, but not significant given the low RPM fans.
-D.
I was thinking more about GPU and CPU fans under load. I know that depends on the particular GPU & CPU cooler but wondering how much quieter the non glass panel could be.
Unconvinced. Still buying Fractial Desing Define Mini C
Great case for sure! Better thermals but not as good looking.
-D.
I use all “be quiet” silent wings case fans in my NZXT S340 Elite and 3M rubber strips and A/C mesh filter to fill all the gaps to reduce noise. The loudest thing around my desk now is a tiny buzz coming from my surge protector. I can also hear my upstairs neighbor having sex so there’s that.
Rubber strips? And ac filter? What are you using?
omgDANGEROUS “3M” makes these roll of rubber sealing strips for gap in doors and windows, I use them to seal the gaps between the dust filters or any holes in the case. They also make air conditioner mesh screen filters which filter out dust much better than NZXT’s dust filters.
Ahh! Makes sense! Might try that!
I love the look of build in this video. It's an inspiration to make my system look as good as that. Which noctua fan is that???
NH U12S
Great reviews. Which one accumulates the least amount of dust out of this case, the Phanteks 500 and the Lian Li PC-011 Dynamic?
I'm looking for one with good airflow but minimal dust accumulation and that's not too loud either. Thanks.
I really liked orange/dark combination :(
I like how you pick Noctua heatsink for be quiet! case review lol
Hi, about the fans: Is the stock configuration with the front fan as intake and back fan as exhaust? When you changed the front one to the top, where both fans exhaust? You didn't specify that (or maybe I missed it when you said it)
This or fractal define mini C ?
The brushed texture seems overdone. It would look nice with that triangular hole pattern. Otherwise, it looks great.
The top fan - that's for exhaust? I've often wondered why few/no design seems to incorporate a top exhaust system? Do you think MB's will start being physically separated from all sides in order to improve cooling designs? Is there any system using an air multiplier, like a Dyson fan?
hahaha the opening so cinematic bro. good job
thanks thanks :) Pocket4K camera in BRAW is doing all the heavy lifting.
-D.
Modders can use these two SSD mounts on the left side to put there some custom decorations ;)
Ps. Would be cool to see some temp specs with something like 3 fan rad top :D
Price for this case is very competitive. I'll still choose the O11 Dynamic though
Hi Chris
That case looks really nice and I have heard good things about BeQuiet cases. Are they any quieter or is it just a brand name?
Please review the pure base 500DX
BeQuiet made a Fractal design case, got it
Metallic Gear Neo Air pls ^^
Planning a build for my friend but we're waiting for the Phanteks P360X
I think one more intake fan on the bottom front of the case for the GPU and you're good to go.
Meshify C or Pure Base 500?
plz...
Mesh for airflow.
Yeah it’s just...be quiet. As good as always
