We don't know what to do about the Syrians and the Mexicans... the plastic soup, the melting icecaps, the multitude of mammals on the endangered species list, housing crisis, health care, globalism, nationalism, enduring nuclear threat, global viral threat (anno 2020, coronavirus)......! But we have our steel belted radials..... so..... just leave us alone....................
I can honestly say that Peter Finch's inspired delivery of Chayevsky's devastating words always moves me to tears. Who dares to write such things today ? How many actors would risk their reputations to say them ? Above all what studio or network would support them ? The message still resonates; the questions still beg for answers.
My favourite speach ever, I just remembered it today after watching the news. "I'm a human being goddamnit my life has value" this applies in so many ways, being a number working for a soulless PLC and more so over the past months the people caught up in a war they should not be suffering.
i wonder how much people got up from their seat and yelled outside their window after seeing this video, lol GREAT speech, i love the effects that went along with it.
I'm sick of it. The world became a machine for extremes, suffering and pleasure. And I'm on the former side. My mother used to say to me, don't get sad, get mad. And I will. I tried giving my best to the world and in a few weeks I will make some of those who help maintain the dystopia pay. Wish me luck fellas.
It's more relevant now than ever. And few are really getting MAD! Just blindly rolling over, bowing, and bending over to PSYCHOPATHS, removing your identity with muzzles. Good work, humans, good work.
There's no time like the present, and this is important for the state of mind. In the current situation we are in, we need a little pent up aggression to leave our bodies. Especially now!
I like how everyone is blindly agreeing with this speech. It is taken out of context. The point of the speech was to prove that the people of the time listened to their televisions instead of actually thinking about their current situation(the depression, crime, etc) This speech only proves that people today are no different than people from almost 40 years ago. The point of the speech wasn't for us to do what he said(scream) It was for us to "want to get mad" For "us' to confront our problems,
i'm pretty sure most people understand the context. screaming is the first step. yes it is about actually doing something about the problem, taking action etc. i think that is kind of obvious.
Wow talk about prophetic. I found about this movie and this speech in particular because of Fightstar. So finding out that this was done a decade before I was even born is kinda eerie... oh, and the typography is beautiful.
It's crazy how a lot of the same issues back in the 70's cycle back to the current crises of today. Aren't we supposed to learn from our past mistakes and work toward a better tomorrow?
Isn't it tragic...... this film is nearly 40 years old and no one did F all. His words were indeed in a film of fiction but the film was based on real life at the time and meant to wake people up as well as entertain. Unfortunately a majority of my countrymen prefer entertainment, escape and self delusion rather than action. Some of us had been fighting and screamed and some of us tried to swim against the tide but people had already fallen asleep. People did pretty much what the Germans did in 1934. Those that didn't participate with heart and soul in the new idealogy simply thought if they kept their heads down, struggled for their daily bread and obeyed that all would be ok. Well they ended up in ashes and that is what is coming. In a different way. We had a president who should have been in prison but was exonerated by a system which 40 years later is so corrupt and so powerful few people have a chance in hell unless they do what the original colonialists did in 1776. But it seems there are no more Paul Reveres, Nathaniel Hales only people who care more for their next bit of technology, a text message and video game or their chosen Team than they do for their Freedom and the future. It seems that it is human nature to not give a flying fuck about the future. Yes everyone talks about their children and grandchildren but no one really cares about the world they are being handed. If they had the world wouldn't be as it is now for those children and grandchildren of those people in 1976.
@CaitSithDK That's the beauty behind this... speech, if you will - it outlines everything that is wrong in our age. It's as contemporary and relevant today as it was thirty four years ago, and probably will remain so in the next twenty to fifty, because nothing have changed since then, and it ain't gonna change any time soon...
This is just the first step in a long process to get Govt run health care for everyone. They get what they can a bit at a time. It's all about control, people. Not just about covering people who are not covered.
my life is a living hell no more!!! I refuse to take shit from the teachers, my brother, uncle, and all the monsters I had to fight!!! im not mad. IM FUCKING LIVID!!!
i sent this to Glenn, i said it was kinda relevant. He reposted it and commenting himself. Getting mad is okay, as long as it doesn't end up in physical violence.
1976 and it fits so much today, like its monolog of today’s time. It’s so prophetic! I’m a human being, God-damn-it, my life has VALUE! I’m as mad as hell, and I’m not ganna take this anymore! Fook you corporate fookers that want to control our life. THE WORD IS OURS!!! (phrase from La haine (1995))
@ahmedelsayedus well, i am an Egyptian too live in states. i think instead of keep asking for help, every individual need to step up and be responsible and do something.
@StarWarzFreak92 yeah if i'm not mistaken, europe supposedly the best health care. I heard that businesses are bribing employees with private health insurance.
Isn't it funny how this show is from decades ago, yet all the stuff he is saying is so relevant to the times of today....
LordAkira It always is, and probably always will be.
Well nothing's fundamentally changed yet
its been six years sense you posted that comment and its still relevant today. thats a damn shame.
@@Xsuprio well we better figure it out or those steel belted radials won't be the only things we lose.
I can honestly say that Peter Finch's inspired delivery of Chayevsky's devastating words always moves me to tears. Who dares to write such things today ? Literally, not a single actor would say a line like it!
It would be considered "hate speech" or "Toxic" because good vibes only.
I'M AS MAD AS HELL, AND I'M NOT GOING TO TAKE THIS ANYMORE! Damn that felt good.
This is so great. I love this speech and the animation is terrific.
This is the first thing everyone should listen to when they wake up!
No, first Charlie Chaplin's Dictator speech, then this, the madness comes in 10x as hard. Trust me.
@@thelitcandle7036
I live by that speech
My favourite speach ever, I just remembered it today after watching the news. "I'm a human being goddamnit my life has value" this applies in so many ways, being a number working for a soulless PLC and more so over the past months the people caught up in a war they should not be suffering.
This has to be one of the greatest speeches in movie history and it still rings true today 46 years later.
I got out of my chair. I opened the window. I shouted out my mind. I'm on the list, now. Good luck, the rest of you.
NerfedNuke *I’M AS MAD AS HELL, AND I’M NOT GOING TO TAKE THIS ANYMORE! **_WHAT IS “THE LIST”?!_*
The list of people who ain't gonna take it no more, Otto..!
NerfedNuke *_GREAT!!!_*
Watchlisted
This still gives me goosebumps, it’s just so intense and unfortunately still relevant.
I actually used this monologue for a speech course. Thanks for posting it in such a concise manner really helped out!
this is the best speech I've ever listened to.
Watch the speech from The Great Dictator...
i wonder how much people got up from their seat and yelled outside their window after seeing this video, lol

2020 and still relevant....so powerful
It's more relevant now than ever. And few are really getting MAD! Just blindly rolling over, bowing, and bending over to PSYCHOPATHS, removing your identity with muzzles. Good work, humans, good work.
Thank you for this timeless cathartic battle cry for people to stand up and be counted as human beings with value.
The Power is in The People. Not the politicians, preachers, or bankers. The People.
People havent got the brains or the fight anymore. They are being walked all over and they are enjoying it bizarrely....
that should be a secret code among society to initiate some rebellion or something
This gives me goosebumps everytime I hear it. Love it!
History really does repeat its self. all the things he says is happening right now except this time we're not recovering from this economic crisis...
who says history hasn't been the same?
And they are repeating the same thing 6 years later.
There's no time like the present, and this is important for the state of mind. In the current situation we are in, we need a little pent up aggression to leave our bodies. Especially now!
Saw this 12 years ago in a highschool video editing class and now I'm a graphic designer 👌
one of the most motivational and powerful speeches of all time..done in the style of an amazing typography. Thanks a bunch, JereHakala.

The movie puts a very dark and depressing spin on this.
gets more accurate for every year it exists :(
well done..such an emotional shock..
Thank you. Good work. This is really inspirational. Feeds the soul.
𝗧𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗶𝘀 𝘀𝗼 𝗿𝗲𝗹𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗻𝗼𝘄
that dramatic music was uncalled for.
This speech is still relevant in 2020. What can we do to make it irrelevant.
Amid the covid 19 epidemic I remembered this and yes I'm as mad as hell
True so true.
Wow talk about prophetic. I found about this movie and this speech in particular because of Fightstar. So finding out that this was done a decade before I was even born is kinda eerie... oh, and the typography is beautiful.

a month before the election and this is more relevant than it's ever been before 😢
Depression,inflation,russians, oil crysis...
Something never changes
why is a scene from a movie that is I don't know how old so relevant now?
+ladyserenegrace18 because it should have been not for you but I'd assume our forefathers a long time ago.
+jbreitz87 but it's happening again didn't we learn from last time? What is it going to take?
amen! describes it all!
ladyserenegrace18 I think the movie is from 1976.
yes but why is it still relevant? Haven't we learned anything? that is the problem
@CaitSithDK

And I'm mad as hell goddamnit!!! The world better get ready for when a bunch of mad people realize they are not only mad, but mad as hell!!!!!
IAM MAD AS HELL AND IAM NOT GONNA TAKE THIS ANYMORE
Great work...and, things are exactly the same today.
This is just the first step in a long process to get Govt run health care for everyone. They get what they can a bit at a time. It's all about control, people. Not just about covering people who are not covered.
this is awesome, both the typography and the speech itself!!!!!!!!
Fucking brilliant!
that speech was beautiful
my life is a living hell no more!!! I refuse to take shit from the teachers, my brother, uncle, and all the monsters I had to fight!!! im not mad. IM FUCKING LIVID!!!
Holy mother, great video...im fired up!
The irony of using this soundbite is outrageous.
great film
Excellent! This is even more relevant today than in 1976! We have even more reason to be "mad as hell" now!
amazing job
i sent this to Glenn, i said it was kinda relevant. He reposted it and commenting himself. Getting mad is okay, as long as it doesn't end up in physical violence.

@14Srb88 The music adds to the epicness.
someone should make a 10 hour vid of this!!!!
They were talking this in 1976, can you imagine the situation in 2011 !!!
It's scary that this speech is still relevant, yet it was made in 1976.
Goose bumps. EVERY. SINGLE. FUCKING. TIME.
I'd forgotten how powerful this was.
@ahmedelsayedus well, i am an Egyptian too live in states. i think instead of keep asking for help, every individual need to step up and be responsible and do something.
Just here for my Daily Motivational Visit
@StarWarzFreak92 yeah if i'm not mistaken, europe supposedly the best health care. I heard that businesses are bribing employees with private health insurance.
Thank you! Fantastic clip btw
Is anyone else reminded of the Cave Johnson lemon rant? "GET MAD! I DON'T WANT YOUR DAMN LEMONS, WHAT AM I SUPPOSED TO DO WITH THESE!?!"
This Speech for this day and age = "Im as mad as F***, Get the Hell Outta My WAY!
Watched this after finding out mods weren't coming to Fallout 4 on PS4 >:(
