So visit another Polish cities not only Kraków.Maybe Wrocław,Gdańsk,Warsaw or something smaller like e.g. Płock...or a capital of Silesia, industrial region KatowiceGreetings from Poland!
Im Polish and my whole entire family lives there (not including siblings or parents) Its a beautiful place.Poland is amazing. They keep it so so clean.🥰
Howdy ! welcome to my country :) I hope you guys gonna have a great time here. Near Krakow is ”Wieliczka” Salt Mine (I wasn't there personally but many foreign tourists recommend this place), it's something unique to see when you here, like for example a restaurant 410ft underground (not sure if there is anything vegan). I'm glad you guys are here :) Other cities I recommend is Wroclaw and surroundings, Gdansk. HAVE FUN ! :)
Looking forward to your Polish visit. And yes, thats a traditional continental Tile Stove. It holds the heat for hours, even after the fire has gone out.
We were just in Krakow last weekend! You entered the old town from the north end, the park/monument is the 'Pomnik Grunwaldzki' commemorating the battle of Grunwald where the Polish-Lithuanians decisively defeated the Teutonic Knights. From there you walked through the old ramparts of the Krakow Barbican, and entered through St. Florian's Gate.
I would love if you guys did like a mini travel guide at the end of each place. Like what type of clothes you need, is it a lot of walking, how to get around and book train or bus tickets, or 5 things to know or something. It doesn’t have to be super long, even just 5 minutes before the next place would be super helpful if any of us viewers were planning to visit those places. I hope that makes sense. Thanks for taking us along for another video!
5:39 It is indeed a fireplace type of thing, an economic one, quite commonly used in Poland back in the days. It stays warm for a long period of time with low "fuel" usage. We call it "piec kaflowy" but i guess you could try to google "masonry heater" to learn more.
Yayyy Poland cant wait to see where you guys went, Poland is big and beautiful there is a lot to explore, if you didnèt see everything then I hope you come back in the future and see more.
Poland is amazing. It's such a modern, vegan country - I go there every year just for the perfect vegan food and cycling. Also, they have great gyms. Everything is so cheap. I love it!!!
Hi american travelers! Where did you go in Krakow. You show to much food but little about city. Seems like you did this by purpose. Krakow looks quite different. See canadians first time in Krakow.!
@5.40 this 'little thing' is known in Poland as a 'PIEC' (stove) it was used to heat-up the place during cold weather months, you had to make a fire using coal rocks and scrap wood. My grandfather had one and was using it up to late 70's :)
If you are in Poland for a while you really should go to Wroclaw! Its a couple hour bus ride (take the PolskiBus) and it is one of the best cities in Poland!
What you call something like a fireplace is a tiled stove. As there is a stove in a block of flats, it means that it is an old house and at that time there was no central heating. It burns with wood and coal, after warming up the stove it gives nice warmth and you can cuddle up to it.
Ya'll have no idea how excited I am for your Poland series, I'm heading to Krakow at the end of Aug for my b-day and you guys give some of the best tips on where to eat, so yay ! :D
Does it though ? I've read Krakow is very inexpensive and I'm coming from one of the most expensive countries, lol. I normally avoid those tourist city cards, as I don't do a lot of touristy things when I travel, I prefer learning through walking tours and maybe a museum or two, but mostly eating and hanging out with a local as well as just getting lost in a new city :)
By the way, have you ever checked into Eurail tickets? When they have sales, you can get pretty good deals on train travel though Europe. I love taking trains through Europe, even though it can be a little more stressful than planes, because you get to see the country! The prettiest trip I took so far was from Lugano to Zurich, but then driving/riding into Italy and seeing the sea for the first time was an exceptional experience for me as well.
The cool building u mention (7:11) near that beautifull statue and "castle" type building is Academy of Fine Arts (build in 1879), oficially opened for use in 1880.
My daughter and her boyfriend are also from Bay Area( Redwood City,CA) they are going to Poland in September. It is his first visit to Poland ...I came across your video ,and think it will be very helpful since they are planning to go to Krakow and Zakopane. Not to mention they both Love greate food... Thank you for great informative videos :)))
How did you get on the plane with that huge backpack? Usually, carry-on luggage can only be half that size. You guys really carry too much stuff! Pack enough clothes for one week. You really look uncomfortable with those large bags on your back and front.
I always try to get my bag in the plane cabin , it's a pain in the butt to wait at that carousel thing at the other end to collect your bags. I've seen the guys who put the bags on the plane several times kick bags across the runway. I'm looking forward to seeing the Poland videos once Eric and Allison have done a bit of local research :P
You guy's are right opposite the the main gate to the old town and there's an awesome open air market a couple of streets over from the street with the big statue.
That large round structure is the Rotunda and directly behind is the Florienska Gate which is the start of the "Royal Way". Walk down Florienska Street and it takes you directly into the central square. Saint Marys church will be to your left and the cloth hall to your right in the middle of the square. If you stay on the same side of the square and exit at the far end that will lead you to Wavel Castle where Polish Kings were crowned for centuries. Auswitz is emotional, if you go get a private guide, it's well worth the price. You really must go to the salt mines at Wallichka (not sure of the spelling) it is fantastic. Also make sure to go to Kasimerz, the jewish quarter. Enjoy the trip.
Everything is new in Poland not only your room. Poland is highly development country. For some not informed people from abroad is shock. Special from USA. When in Poland people builds castles in North America people was looking for shelter in caves.
Travel With Mansoureh it takes more time and it's also more expensive in this era of cheap flights. So sorry environment...if I have to be on train for 15 hours vs. 1 hour flight which is cheaper by 50eur, then there is no competition.
It's definitely the more scenic way to go! :) But does seem to be getting really expensive unfortunately, so I can see why budget travellers would opt for cheap flights where possible.
Agree, also you can turn up at the station 10 minutes before the train leaves rather than hanging about at an airport for two hours.....also you don't have the check luggage issue and you arrive in the centre of town. Door to door I reckon trains would often be the quicker option.
Do you guys have a link to the AirBnB that you stayed in? Id love to check that place out. Great video as always, you two are so enjoyable and inspire me and my family to travel, thank you for your hard work and excellent content.

Very good food and also cheap for someone who is earning money in sterling or euro, proper diner for two 15 £ Picturesque town and the center. Have fun in Poland! We are here now too! (Half of us is Polish ;) Maybe we will run into each other! We are staying in Tarnowskie Gory right now - a smaller but a hidden treasure you might like to visit. I see you went to Wroclaw so you probably won’t be around but we will be in Krakow in two days. By the way, if you can, you should check out Grodziec Castle near Wroclaw. It is an AMAZING old castle built on top of a volcano! We stayed overnight there last year (it is very affordable and includes breakfast) and it was the experience of a lifetime!!!

@Lysy2, yeah, the Internet sources directly translate these as 'tile stoves', but 'masonry heater' is another somewhat popular name.
