I think this absolutely sucks I grew up going to CSKA Moscow matches every summer and we were part of there supporter group Now I have just had to start following the MLS here in the US intensively you used to be able to just go online and order club merch and watch matches on ESPN + in the US I haven’t been able to watch my favorite club in years now because they are banned and not streamed here I think the Russian team and league need to be brought back immediately it also seems to promote Russophobia I have personally been discriminated against for having Russian heritage 🇷🇺🇷🇺🇷🇺
In regimes like this, it is hard to separate politics and football. In the 1930s, the English team gave the Hitler salute when playing in Germany. Playing in and against these nations means supporting/legitimising these regimes. I agree other countries are also bad, but the solution is not to unban Russia. UEFA should ban Israel and ownership by foreign human rights violating dictatorships such as Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and the UAE. Hopefully the league can return when Putin’s gone.
