0:13 "Pardon me/if I happen to be/the slightest bit rusty" Accidental poetry lol. Welcome back! 3:20 Gotta love good use of new mechanics. Don't worry, we're all terrible at throwing aim in this game lol. 4:11 Yeah, it isn't a very difficult or all that interesting of a boss, but it at least forces the player to learn about and get some practice with throwing. IIRC, there's more specific uses for it down the line? I remember expecting this boss to be a much bigger thing, thanks to that earlier cinematic, but Max really takes it out without much trouble at all lol. 7:00 God, this song is *perfect* for this area! So nice! 10:40 It is nice to finally get some context for Max's place in the story. I think this is about where I finally started to get invested on my first complete playthrough. 12:28 This is kinda my one *minor* gripe that remains with the whole weapon upgrading system they have in these games (up to this point). It can get a bit tedious trying to figure out exactly how many things you need to Spectrumize to reach the Build-Up threshold. There's value to obscuring that information a bit from the player, it just grates when you are trying to be efficient with your points and materials, and end up needing to do it one at a time, you know? 13:39 *while getting shot at by a vehicle mounted machine gun* Max: "How annoying, geez." xD I'm so happy with how generous they are with the bombs and when they damage Flotsam in this bit. 16:05 It is funny seeing Flotsam like this after all his magical floating and such. Good cartoon humor. They did great with this whole sequence. 18:10 I get what they are going for, but Max narrating like this starts to get annoying after a certain point. I mean, he's doing it while *the other main character* is talking. Just let us hear the conversation, game! Stop telling us about how crazy and cool things are going to get and just show us! 19:52 "Even *now*, my comrades are fighting Griffon in the *future*!" ...Waaaaiiiiit a minute lol. 24:02 "Wonder why he got so mad." Hahaha, it is wild how much the game improves for me after Monica shows up. 25:07 You're probably right about the grape juice lol. Old, more strict ESRB rules probably. Alcohol was a big no-no, so if the localization team wanted their game to avoid an M rating, I guess they had to call it grape juice. 28:07 Big Snow White vibes, of course. Though, giving the short, goofy "dwarves" irish accents is...a choice. 30:47 Oh lawd, apparently potato pie is an Irish thing? I guess this means Max is Irish! xD
33:50 Max be like "Pretty girl O.O no further questions." 35:37 They did a great job with the forest vibes, despite how limited the dungeons are. 40:52 I suppose there's probably mythological origins to all the deadly video game plants. They are in D&D and Tolkien (a little bit) too, so it makes sense they'd show up in video game RPGs, eh. Admittedly, mythological plants are a blindspot of mine xD 42:00 I can't recall anything you need to take a picture of in the dungeons, besides certain enemies (bosses especially). This speaks to the missable aspect of the whole system I referred to in other comments. You've already lost access to a few you'll never be able to get at this point. If you want to avoid this moving forward, consider taking pics of enemies *during their attacks* and other notable animations (so-called "Scoops"). The game does a very poor job of letting you know you can even do this. Tbh, I can't recall whether or not it even tells you at all...unless you talk to certain characters multiple times...I think. 52:40 Hahahaha, you'll see.
