Man just a simple question, have you played strawberry jam yet?
For that, you kinda suck. You missed the jump vs madeline, like one of the easiest jumps. And for 100 hours to just be on be on summit b side is kinda... bad. Really bad. I 100% the whole game in less than 60 hours.

@@emanwonkon2205Before I even watch the whole video, I have to agree that 100 hours to still be in the base game stuff is wack. I'll never be able to play all the mod maps, but I cleared the base content in about 50 hours.
(and another 200 for the end of farewell is insane.. edit. didn't notice the golden whoops)
farewell golden 300 hours in is absolutely nuts
I have bit over 50h on my save and i have all achievements in steam version and almost every c side golden berry so i thinck i can do golden berry farewell whit 300hours of experience

A side goldens are riding a bicycle on a tightrope between two mountain tops
B side goldens are doing that while someone is shooting an airsoft gun at you
7b and 8b are the same but it's a paintball gun instead
Farewell golden is balancing a wheelie on a rusted tricycle while a team of navy seals is trying to snipe you with live ammunition while you cross a wire over an active volcano
they're not even close. I got 1c-6c golden 25 hours into my save, started getting A-side goldens (other than 1a and 2a which are easy) about 100 hours in, started getting b-sides (other than 2b, which is also easy) with about 500 hours in. Finally got 3b, 5b, and 6b in the last few months, up to 2000 hours of game time between stock levels and modded content (have beaten all expert maps/heartsides in the collabs, for example)
I have now put almost 200 hours into farewell golden alone and have only gotten decently close once.
It's fucking hard

That is definitely the progression of someone that was already good at platformers when they started with Celeste.
The 1 hour section already looked so much cleaner and determined than what I see from a lot of beginners, and Farewell Golden at 300 is crazy good. 👍
I felt a sharp sting and a heard distant scream of pain at the end of the 100 hour clip :D
that hour 1 must be recorded after he was quite good at the game, it just goes to fast and to quickly to where it needs to go

I'm just playing mods and improving my skill. I hate wasting time going through the same level 1000 times in an attempt to do it without accidental misses.@@saimokore1141

Also, I love the implication that I should have gotten farewell golden by hour 300... I have 440 hours and I'm still edging my way up there. Good luck!
I think you can make a good argument that it's even more impressive to spend 440 hours grinding than it is grinding 300 hours on something. It shows perseverance! :)

@@DesTr069as someone who's gotten a handful of goldens, trust me, _it's not_ lmao. but it IS incredibly satisfying getting to the end and seeing that little shit of a berry poof out of existence and into points!
@@DesTr069they're a fun challenge once you have 175 berries, and when you get 199 from the a b and C sides you'll start craving the golden file. You'll go for moon berry cuz it's easiest, learn winged golden cuz it's the last fun one, but then at 201 you'll rip your hair out from fwg attempts. One month or more of soul crushing repetitive practice, and you'll either get fwg, get a good portion or close to it, or would have dropped the 202 in favor of mods or speed running...

Funny. I did it in 265 hours I believe? Something like that. I just remember I did 11913 practice deaths and a bunch of runs just to get it.

@@curs3dspirit491 no, its definitely very hard people just progress at games at very different speeds. What might take someone 1000 hours to beat someone else could do in 300, its different for everyone and if you arent super experienced with platformers beforehand or just take slightly longer to reach the same level as someone else. I myself beat fwg after 350 hours of total playtime (150 alone of it was grinding fwg attempts) but my friend who I got into celeste has over 500 hours now and they havent even started hell trio.
This is really interesting to see; i feel like our progression paths are completely opposite. I'm at ~250 hours and working on my first GM+1 level right now, but feel like im absolutely nowhere near farewell golden...my time with 7b golden has been really rough, ive spent so many hours on it at this point and choked so many runs (including one that died on the literal lasy jump before the heart), so being consistent enough for fwg is really mind boggling to me. really good work to beat it at only 300 hours!
also feel like you were way better than me at the start. i was terrible, but you already had a surprisingly great grasp of the controls at the very beginning.

90 hours (- a few hours my stepson played) in i vividly remember the summit c-side 😣 currently slowly progressing towards the end of Reconciliation in chapter 9. What an amazing game

Really cool video, also pretty funny how gmhs which is close to the things showed in 500 hours is in the same section as perfection which is yellow gm+1 (also wow your friend is speedruning perfection i’ve never seen someone not taking any time to rest on the walls like they did)
Good pace for 1000hrs honestly. I'm at like 680hrs and just starting to get comfortable with more gm stuff.
Dude beats ultradifficult in 500 hours while i only beat all the green expert levels in sj, you are simply insane at the game

moce is considerably easier than people make it out to be. its def harder than ngmhs but it should be doable

I'm 1k hours and I'm not even attempting farewell golden yet... barely advanced SJ maps and I think 5-6 goldens left before farewell.

Bro the 100 hour mark might be inaccurate, because I beat every single achievement at around 68 hours.
not all game features are on the achievements list, the replayability is insane in this game
But at where hour 300 is im only like 40 hours into the game and has all except 1 b-side done and still need all c- sides and whatever is past that

I beat the main game of Celeste in 5 hours and I beat chapter 7 c side recently and I’ve been playing the game for 10 days
My skill with Celeste reaches the 100 hour mark, but it took me 35 hours to achieve it.

Every now and then we see someone who just flies through progression like this. Makes me wonder if I should make +2 maps now or wait till I'm finished with my part of the seasons project. im at 200 hours and theres no way im doing farewell golden at 300 hours. I just got the summit b golden last week in 3000 deaths and thats not even close to farewell golden difficulty
My good sir, I have over 200 hours in celeste and I'm still stuck on chapter 6B. i could never do farewell, let alone farewell golden at my current skill level. I'm not sure if ill be even close by the expected 300. Granted, Celeste was one of my first platformers, so that sets me back a bit, but all the props to your friend
Don’t feel too bad. The average time for 100 percent and all golden berries is like 500 hours, and many people take over 1000. This guy is just really skilled

6B is the hardest B if this is encouraging and the thing I had the most deaths in more then the C (except for potentially 7C). Or you can cheat it like I did for 7C to experience more and beat 8C instead.
Edit: Apparently cheating 7C to get to 8C was what I needed to actually beat 7C (for real). Learned how to memorize all movements. Still had in 7C more time and deaths then all other C (including 8C) combined.

But simple assist mode was not enough, so I downloaded a speedrun mod, which has a quicksave ability
That allowed me to practice it the Geometry Dash way
Well considering that I have only about 45h in game that's explain why I still didn't beat 7C (definitely not coping). Though from most comments from Celeste videos people beat this in much less total game hours. But then I have to consider from people I actually know who played and basic logic that those aren't representative of most Celeste players who probably out there stuck in the B levels (again definitely not coping). So after rage quitting about a year ago I came back pleasantly surprised that my skill didn't go down yet still was incapable of beating 7C. Cheated so I could at least experience 8C. Beat it in less then 2h with just 397 💀, well that's something at least to show I am good at the game (once again definitely not coping).
Edit: 5.5h and 1125 deaths later I finally beat 7C fair and square. Doing 8C and the method I used to beat it really helped with 7C despite how much this level hates me (died 2 times in the end, then forgot how to deal with the small cube, then died 2 more time in the final spikes, and then did it). Considering all attempts combined aboth 8.5h and 2000 deaths. This is more time and deaths then all other C (including 8C) combined...

7c being 100 hours in (atleast for me) is too far, im only 44 hours in and i have everything but the goldens done

although i also thought the pathing on 7C looked a lot more difficult than it needed to be, so i could see it taking a lot longer because of that

Don’t worry, it isn’t terrible after that. The difficulty continues to ramp up smoothly and the gameplay stays fun the whole way through!
-Someone at 27 hours, but finished Farewell and all collectibles outside of Farewell and Pico-8
Edit: just make sure you grab a good chunk of the collectibles in the A-sides before doing the B-sides. The extra challenge of those tough strawberries and other assorted goodies is great preparation for B-side completions. You can do it!
Update: At 100 hours, beat Farewell and did a few goldens
so you spent 90 hours on the end of reflection or summit 1:29

In my case:
Hour 1: Same as vid, die a bunch
Hour 10: Stuck in 3A trying to get berries
Hour 60: Beat summit
Hour 100: Got around 180 goldens
Hour 200: Got most golden except the triple hell and farewell.
Hour 600: Golden many intermediate difficulty, beat some advance and expert
Hour 900-1000 (Not yet): Probably fwg

im trying to beat SJ grandmaster lobby, i got begginer to advanced beated, started expert but didnt finish it by pure boredom so i skiped it after beating 4 red maps.
jumped from red expert to red gm by beating shattersong and right now beating cliffside flipside.

Geometry dash demon level completers don't even stay near celeste professionals..
1000 hours make you a master at keyboard playing, but if you use the controllers, you'll need 5000 hours ;)
I beat farewell 30 hours in....

25 hours of play in skill, hardest achievements: 1b, 8a. Im going to update this with all my achievements
8.8 hours so far, I've already played a little bit over 2 hours before this though
all b sides and 1 - 4c sides, 2b golden and 3a golden and some nifty times on the a sides 48.1 hours
all c sides + farewell 1-4a golden 2b golden 1, 2 and 4c golden with an any% of 48:24 and combined IL any% of under 40 minutes. 110 hours
The 1000k hours level: the tower xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvviiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii
seems more like 6 minutes and 15 seconds of celeste to me

Oh, I'm playing CPVL on my 500 hours.. It's because of my hate on 1*GM+1(Except Mauve and Darkmoon Ruins)/GM(Except Flipside Cliffside, Superluminary and Drifting Deep) maps. I actually skiped most of Adv lobby and Expert lobby in SJ. Yes, I also hate SC. I think theese maps are unplayable and unfun to play
