========= Talvisota LYRICS =========
Rise of nations pride
Russians on a route to ruin
Kreml is more then certain to win
Sent away an army to the west
Blizzard reigned the ground were chosen
Snow was deep and hell were frozen
Stalin were too eager to invade
He thought of the might he possessed
And not of his foe
Rage of winter
Rise, nations pride
Hold whats yours
Strike’em were it hurts
Fight, hold your ground
Winter war
Reinforce the line
Split them into small divisions
Rip ’em of the conquest visions
Motti tactics used with great result
Snipers move unseen in snowfall
Force them to retreat and recall
Fight the Russian rule and their demand
With Molotov cocktail in hand
No fear of their tanks
Death or glory
A slice of a knife to a throat
And their blood turns to ice

@@user-xr4wu4rp2r Thats because the fortresses still have supplies and the fortress is easier to guard than a whole border. Finland also had 10x less men with mostly outdated equipment. Also finland was forced to make that decision because of supplies and not wanting to lose more men since that was going to happen and the soviets wouldve won in the end no matter what unless stalin for some reason decided to retreat. Even with a great cost this war showed Stalin few things: he changed Voroshilov for Timoshenko as Comander and Minister, and Timoshenko was far better general than Voroshilov; it helped reorganize the headquarters and start again in a hurry to train officers; return many soldiers, officers and generals from the camps (first of all, one can mention, Rokossovsky, one of the best Soviet generals of the Great Patriotic War); pay more attention to building up and strengthening tank and artillery units; take seriously the establishment of logistics routes and communications for the troops.
As a result, this became a good help for further triumph over Nazi Germany. Yes, even failures some have always managed to turn to their advantage.
As for this song... Sabaton, you are simply the BEST!

The Finns have a moral code of never to surrender it’s called sisu
''We have won, but at what cost?''
@Черногорский истребитель Well Molotov Said "Within 2 weeks we'll be eating icecream in Helsinki" (Meaning it would take max 2 weeks to conquer the entire country.
Guess what? It took years and russia ended up signing a treaty for some useless areas with mainly russian population.
@Черногорский истребитель We may have lost land, but we won independence. That's why we won those wars, and that's all that matters. Finland didn't really have other choice than to give some lands to war to end. Kinda pathethic from Soviet to attack, like you wouldn't have land enough to fuck around. And oh, soviet executed their own soldiers when we returned them, so isn't very saint either.
And that "which resulted in many civillian deaths." is kinda funny. War is literally losing "civils." If some big ass country is going to attack, of course we are going to strike back with all we got. If u go to play, u better handle it then.

Soviet: We have decisively put an end to the imperial past and are giving up our debts!
Also Soviet: Let's restore the Great Russian territories!
This is my favorite song by Sabaton.
My grandfather fought in the war and my grandma was a lotta (lotta was a female personnel who took care of the wounded soldiers at the wartime)
And they met during the war actually. Grandfather died 2007, grandma died 2014. I remember that my grandfather told some stories about the war, but gosh, i myself can't remember what things he told me :(
Respect bro. My great grandfather was in Europe during the war. Came right after D-day, did some wacky American Saint Nick things in Luxembourg after the Germans left, I believe fought in the battle of the bulge, then history plays out. Lost him in 2008. He never told me stories (I only learned of his service after death) but what we have of him makes me proud to be his descendant. I respect to your grandparents. Our countries may not have been allies, but yours had a decent reason and the hold against the red army should be an inspiration to all.
Extremley relevant to current events in Ukraine! Putin thought of his own might, but completely disregarded the Ukrainian armed forces, thinking he'll take Kyiv, Harkiv and the other major Ukrainian cities in 2 days, but he encountered a fierce resistance form the small yet determined Ukrainian army and civil volunteer force, fighting for its land and people against a major and hungry aggressor. With molotov cocktails, and Javelins, in hand , no fear of their tanks - death or glory.
Slava Ukraini!
Zа победу!💪🏻🇷🇺
My first thought when I saw that long Russian military convoy was "motti tactics"

History will always repeat itself.
True, the masses will always do what the superior men want.

Russophobia🥶🥶🥶
@@Fet-qk1fr Hating a genocide state does not mean that you hate its people
I talking about the russian government not its people that people are fine
I discovered this a couple years back... and as someone who is partly of Finnish descent, hence my last name (my great grandparents were immigrants who came to the USA from Finland in the 1800s), much approved! 🤍🤘💪💙
Sabaton your my favourite band. Keep up the good work
russia may be the master of the Winter but Finnland IS the winter
