I will say this probably makes sense to some one who has and uses these because I'm half lost but my brother got me one for Xmas and now I'm watching videos to prep.
It is way easier to use than you think. If you have a newer machine everything will really be intuitive. I was making t-shirts before my first week was over. last Christmas from November 1st I made 42 Exploding Christmas Boxes and sent them all out before December 15th. All had different decorations in them. no 2 alike. all made of paper and glued together using Barely Art Glue love that stuff.
I got one too. I just got lucky and bought the biggest easy press 2, brand new for 100$ on marketplace. A beautiful human helped me with a dream. I am truly indebted to her.

Also to go along with this hack- while you’re using the mat ,slip the clear cover of the mat in the hinge of the cover of the Cricut when the Cricut is opened.
The plastic piece she adds on top, it’s to protect it and make it stay sticky. But when you try to put it on it’s really hard lining it straight with the mat and it’s often at a angle
I don't have issues lining it up by just having the mat flat and putting the plastic sheet back on. Do many actually have that much trouble? I'm glad it always lines up for me
That's not the hack... everyone knows you're supposed to put that cover back over the mat. The hack seems to be putting the mat in the phone / tablet slot and using it to line up the plastic cover sheet. I've had seven of these machines and not once - NEVER-have I needed some sort of hack to put the cover sheet back on. Line up the corners or one of the edges and just lay it down. If putting the protective sheet back on the mat is such a problem, maybe people shouldn't be buying these machines 😂.
It never occurred to me that was a phone/tablet stand-or a mat holder!!! 😂 But I bought used with no manual so I’m definitely on the Long road towards mastery.

Yes, always put the mat cover back over your mat to protect it from dust,etc. It will extend the life of your mats by keeping them cleaner!

You can use baby wipes on them it works well and it doesn’t make the mats less sticky
