YESYES!!! Lord Jamar is speaking truth and gracefully inviting his brothers to sit down together to discuss it instead of arguing from afar!

    FACTS!!!
Africa don’t get any credit for our culture and cultural music.

If it did originate from Africa then you should give credit but for the continuity and development on world wide influence to America. Thats honorable. To deny any of that would be disingenuous at best just because of pride.

@@will4us With all due respect “If it did doesn’t exist.”
Unlike the Caribbean’s, including Hispanics, Brazilians, and Bahamians; Black American/FBA culture, cultural music, traditions, heritage and lineage are distinct from ANY African tribes.

@@divineenergy7237 Hip hop is international. It’s not necessarily regional or racial but the concept or style or essence or subject matter or catalog can be regional, cultural that can also resonates on an international level like a pac, DMX, Jay z body of work.

If elements of hip hop did originate from Africa wouldn't it be right to give credit to Africa but for the continuity and development on worldwide influence and credit given to America. Thats honorable. To deny any of that history would be disingenuous at best just because of pride?

@will4us this is no different from the Blues, Jazz, Country, R&B, Soul, Funk........get the point? FBA been doing this. These other groups have no history of doing this. To be honest Jamaicans copied FBA and FBA gave Latinos their so-called Latin jazz and everything that came from it.

@@mr.culturefreedom2073 I think was commercialised worldwide in the USA. But the roots and style orignated from the streets with influence from plantation music, church music, classical music including other world music.
