Can't wait to see the finished pack... awesome watching that get made...as I get older and more patient I consider attempting hobbies like this ... probably feels pretty great to wear a pack you built
@@naturecallsoutdoors lol I'm gonna attempt a small project to upgrade my pack will see what happens...I can see myself years down the road sewing packs for my girls hopefully (their still too little)haha ..your influence is positive on my life so thank you ..funny I find many role models on UA-cam...positive energy and positive people in the true outdoor backpacking community...
Looking good Bruce. I use an arrow that I cut to length to fit in my sewing box. The nock is great for running cordage, or flipping things right side out. The nock also grips the foam just enough to make it easier to stuff. I also topstitch the straps to help keep the foam in place.
So glad to find your video. I have a molle backpack with rubbish shoulder straps, which I am going to replace. Thanks Bruce
Thank You!

Yes it is a great old man hobby. I am saving up for a much better sewing machine. I also have become the city seamstress for all my daughters friends.

Lots to think about...
Hi Rhonda. Yes the last bit has been a lot of thinking for the actual frame. IT is coming though.
How about the belt in the strap? What did you do?
Hello, where do you get the template for the shoulder straps? Is it possible to buy the pdf from somewhere, thanks
Do you have a parts list for this video? Your amazon store is "inactive".
You can insert sponge and flip the soldier strap in one time
Great tip Ramavtar. I am going to make another pack and will do it that way
what is the size of a needle for sewing webing with cordura
I am using a 90/14 for this, I do change to a blunt tip, rather than a microsharp

What is the name of the black foam?
I think you are referring to the "spacer mesh" the more greyish foam is an ultralight sleeping pad
