I don't know what it is about her voice, but since 1979 I've loved me some Ricki Lee Jones. I heard Chuckie...Company...Danny's All Star Joint....and lost my mind! I was the only kid in my circle at the time, that "got" her genius. I'm so glad she conquered her demons, and got back out here, with new music. It's been way too long....
Finding this treasured gem by allowing myself to detract from our apocalyptic world.

Saw Rickie at Hartwood Acres in Pittsburgh in 2013. Seemed to have been one of her first shows for a while and she was genuinely surprised and grateful that the crowd showed so much love. It was very touching. She was as good as the first time I saw her on SNL singing Chuck E's in Love

I've been a fan since 'Chuck E's in love' made her a superstar in 1979. That album means a lot to me. I know every note of every song.
I saw her in Vicar Street in Dublin a few years ago, and she was amazing. She's coming back to Dublin in July. I can't to see her again. It's wonderful that Rickie is getting the recognition she so richly deserves for her talents. Everything about her is authentic and real. A truly gorgeous woman.

I've been a fan since the age of 13, back in 1979, when our National TeeVee broadcasted a concert.. I think Miss Rickie was pretty smashed, it was still GREAT!!

I had the opportunity to see Rickie Lee only once over here in Germany (and unfrotunately she had to play in front of a small audience). I'd love to see her play and sing again.

I spent the winter and spring of '85 in the basement garage of an old Packard dealer in Seattle, rebuilding a '54 Mercury. I was accompanied only by a boombox and a bunch of cassettes. But when I put The Magazine in the player, I somehow could not listen to anything else the whole time I was down there. That album plays in my head when I see a Merc or think of that time, and its grace and power were woven into that revitalized car. Thank you, Rickie, you sustained me and sustain me still. Looking forward to your show in Albuquerque.

The Magazine was a very special album and some song still define a time and specific memories for me. Saw Rickie many times in the early years, remember being happy opening The Magazine and finally seeing a real smile on her face thanks to an inmate’s letter. But she pissed me off canceling a show I drove 5 hours to see at the Vic in Chicago at 8:30pm, voice still beautiful, can’t imagine how she’d become so poor, but wish her the best
