It didn't matter to me that I knew all of this information. I was so incredibly impressed at your efficiency in introducing so much useful information that I watched this video through until the end. No time wasted here. This is the type of video that makes me subscribe to a channel!
This was SO helpful! I'm a beginning Assistant Principal and charged with overseeing schoolwide attendance data - this was exactly what I needed to help me sort and organise! Thank you so much for the tutorial!
I have always been intimidated by Sheets and Excel. This video was a game changer! I see so many possibilities and will be applying several of these tasks immediately. Your channel has increased my productivity as an educator. Big thanks!
I'm a retired teacher, but I still like to watch your tips on using various apps. This one was just what I needed when I was teaching but is also useful to me now. As usual, you have done an excellent job!
Now that I'm starting as a secretary I've been floded with work. I choosed google sheets to organize the organization's log. Thanks to you now I've learned some tips that have made my life easier. TSYM!!👍👍
What the heck?! This was such a great and well-made video! I'm trying to learn Sheets for the first time because the thought of being able to log down literally ANYTHING I want is such a great skill I envy.
nice tutorial! drop downs are a great win in Google sheets. personally I prefer creating a separate worksheet for drop down options and use the data validation > select from range option. what's nice is to put the range to be the whole column in the options worksheet and then I can quickly add or remove options (or fix typos) without having to open the dialogue menu 😊
Mostly just using sheets to keep up with random lists of stuff, and to learn how it works so I can use it for more important things down the road. Thanks for keeping it short and getting straight to the point! I'm definitely saving this somewhere so I can look back at it when I need it.
This is a great video. I feel that I don't use Sheets as much because, much like excel, I find it a bit intimidating. This made it much easier to understand. I will be saving this to look back at frequently. Thank you so much.
For some reason, I cannot do the dropdown box like you instructed at 3:30. When I click Data Validation, it just adds data validation rule to the right sidebar, but does not give me the same options in this video. :(
OH MY GOSH! I can't believe I just learned how to create a Google Sheet! I feel so accomplished! Your video is amazing and just enough to get me started! Thanks a million! Your video was worth the million times I replayed it to follow you step by step! You're the best! Thanks from Chicago😀!!!
THANK YOU x 1, 000!! I have lost track on how many times that I have gone to your videos for a tutorial on "x" topic. I love your instructional style and your straight-forward approach to helping viewers understand technology. Additionally, your great sense of humor always makes me laugh!! :) Mil gracias!
Great video. Note that Data Validation can come with its own coloring directly so there isn't really a need to apply conditional formatting on top of that. And adding Filters is also a good way to group together columns.
This is the best! All that in just under 10 minutes, I feel more comfortable with Google Sheets. I can’t wait to use what I learned here. Thank you so much🤩
This helped out a lot. I really never used sheets since I never had any use for them, but in my new job I do need to know and this just showed me what I needed to know!!!! Thank you!!!
You earned my like in the first :3 secs 👏🏾 I just watched another video and let’s just say they tried thier best lol You came with the fire value immediately 🙏🏾
Wow, this is amazing! I'm going to be so prepared this year. Last school year was my first year as team leader, and this knowledge is going to be an entire game changer.
Thanks for this video. I finally have a way to share my video games completed list in an organized fashion instead of just having a huge list just going down the left side of the screen
Thank you for your time and useful video for the google sheets. I learnt a lot of best ways to minimize my time while working with it. Have a great day!
I'm super enjoying this lesson and actually doing it while he's there demonstrating all of this. Goodness I am so thankful I found your video, this is really helpful in doing my inventory!
Thank you, earned a subscriber. Is there a way to create a %. For example somebody does something 100 times and may get 2 wrong, is there a way for me to set rules that turns the % a colour when a certain percentage is hit?
Great information! I knew most of the features that you showcased but I was happy to learn a couple of new things. :) My next steps are to learn how create percentages based on a series of marks (including checkboxes) and the IF feature, e.g. convert that % into a letter grade. These are a couple of things I saw in another video on how to use (but didn't provide a how-to make yourself) a particular company's purchased units from TPT which include Sheet assessments. I am not purchasing, thus I need to learn how to do myself lol
9:12, should it be protect tab instead of protect sheet? The terminology is confusing where sheet and tab are used interchangeably. A sheet can have multiple tabs.
Can you please make a tutorial on how to make this data into graphs without displaying student names? Please? And great job as always! I love your tutorials.
Hello, I love the drop down option and thank you for the video. I am planning to use this in schoolwide planning documents using Google Docs. I have made a template and the dropdown works just as you explain. But when I copy the template my dropdown menu disappears and just the text copies over to the new document. Is there any fix for this? Thank you very much

I am brand new to google sheets and this was so helpful! I am trying to use google sheets for inventory tracking for a new Etsy shop.
What the heck?! This was such a great and well-made video! I'm trying to learn Sheets for the first time because the thought of being able to log down literally ANYTHING I want is such a great skill I envy.

Great tip Mike! Yeah the drop downs are such a simple way to make the spreadsheet so much more functional and professional looking.
My mind is blown. I have never had need of using sheets before. This taught me sooo much is such a short time. Thank you!

I really enjoy your lesson. Quick, precise and just easy to follow.

I love it when I find the most comprehensive and simple explanations. THANK YOU!!
So glad you found it helpful! 👍🏼
I like the way you put this video together. It's a bit more "fun" than a typical spreadsheet video. Nice work.

Hey ProfSport! Yes you can use percentages in Sheets. Here's a page with more info on it - spreadsheetpoint.com/calculate-percentage-in-google-sheets/
Great information! This will help make it easier for me to create my social media schedule for all of my business platforms.
For sure Donica!
I'm new to sheets. Thank you for sharing this. This information has been very helpful and useful for me. 😊🥰😊
You're very welcome, Jo!
Blown away. Excellent tutorial.
Incredible videos!!
Can I please ask, how did you get the video of yourself talking with no background?? What program did you use?
Hey Bryn! I used a green screen and a program called Screenflow. It's about $100 and has a bit of a learning curve.
2024 I used a lot of this information TODAY. Thank you for such a well-done and concise video!
Great information! I knew most of the features that you showcased but I was happy to learn a couple of new things. :) My next steps are to learn how create percentages based on a series of marks (including checkboxes) and the IF feature, e.g. convert that % into a letter grade. Nice tutorial, if you can cover some more functionalities like this, it will help a lot. Thanks again for all your super videos.
You're very welcome!
9:12, should it be protect tab instead of protect sheet? The terminology is confusing where sheet and tab are used interchangeably. A sheet can have multiple tabs.
Yeah, it can be confusing. You can have multiple 'sheets' in one Sheets project, each on it's own individual tab.
Excellent class, concise and precise.
Thanks Veronica!

Hello, I love the drop down option and thank you for the video. I am planning to use this in schoolwide planning documents using Google Docs.
