This was so annoying. I regret watching this whole damn thing considering there was no specific answer of who the song was supposed to be about. In the very beginning you stated she finally gives the answer of who this song is about, but all you did was keep us hanging with no answer to be found.
@@KarmicSalt Most people suspected it was about Warren Beatty for years, but this guy said Carly Simon finally confirmed who this song was for. He put up endless choices, but by the end he still didn't give an actual, specific answer. That's what was annoying to me.
Carly Simon sold the song and the rights to the song to a fan who paid big bucks for it, along with the name of the person it was written about. The sale came with a condition that he should never reveal who the song was written about, and he hasn't. This video is crap, Viral Nater is only using assumptions. No-one apart from the new owner knows who the person is or was.
If it had not been about Carly I would not have watched it. I knew the question would never be answered. Really getting tired of this. Going to have to find something to do beside this.
As my Hispanic friends would say: "There have been a lot of tamales in that taco." It is a good thing that she and Jagger never produced a child, can you imagine what it's mouth would look like?
I didn't care if it wasn't anybody at all. I did see the total eclipse of the sun she referred to in the song only in Virginia Beach, VA. instead of Nova Scotia, March 7,1970.
Thank you for letting me know it's a nothing burger before I wasted my time and frustrated. I know this channel likes to drag people along. And I should have known better before I even began watching.
@@melfaya That's right. Elsewhere I heard that the second verse was written about Warren Beatty. it was about three men. She only said that because Beatty claimed the whole song was about him.
I think entitling a song as "You're So Vain" with the lyric following that being - "you 'probly' think this song is about you" - when in fact, it IS about that person, is more contradictory than any song I know of. And it blows my mind that I'm the only one who ever noticed this - in MY world. I'm sure I'm not the only one who ever noticed this EVER. I would even guess that Ms. Simon saw this contradiction (or question) when she was writing it and simply thought it to be good writing because it's "artistically ambiguous." No, it's a contradiction.
To be true, any time I hear it I feel she's speaking to me! Am I not so vain? (and think that the song is about me)? Well, that's it!! kinda of a fine trick.
What a waste of time! I should have known better! Everytime I hear this man’s voice I know there will be a great deal of talking and nothing of value will ever be said! No more chances!

Waterboarded with the parade of vain in her life. OK, the one's after she wrote the song are eliminated if it's about one or the several relationships. That only leaves the one's she had experienced in life to that point to be the potential one, or maybe she wrote it based upon the several experiences and it's about nobody in particular & the song applies to past, present & future. Wisdom is a wonderful thing like that. Was she Alanis Morrisette only a couple of decades earlier ? Only kept it short to a single song instead of her entire collection ?
Glad I read the comments first and didn’t waste my time. I always heard it was Warren Beatty.
Same here. But at an interview she says only one part is about Beatty. And the rest about different men.
She gave no answer. This tactic is becoming more frequent.

After listening to this, l don't give a RATS A-S any more.
Gosh Almighty. Would someone please coach these “narrators” on pronunciation - Geffen with a hard G. I know I’m not the only one this bothers.
Pretty sure they used AI. More and more frequent, unfortunately.
From my childhood i always heard it was Warren Beatty.
It was Beatty. Jagger sang background

It was Beatty. Jagger sang background
Who the hell is Mike Jagger? Any relation to Mick Jagger?
Ever thought about hiring a voiceover ? ✋🏻🤐
At one time, there was only 3 Possible People that the Song was Written About!
Great segment! I've subscribed - but who was it, exactly :)
It never showed who she wrote the song about! 😾

James Taylor
She screwed everybody! Damn! After a while girl, it's on YOU. Not them...
We still don’t know? I am sure it was about a few men she was with 🤗

Who Cares, That song gave me a headache 😭😭😭. They played the hell out of it when it came out.I guess I'm just not 🚫🚫 a fan of her's!!!!

I think after watching this pointless video which does not give an answer I've come to realize it was herself she wrote the song about.
This is so boring; always known it is Jagger11
