Look at all the planning, substitutions, collaboration, tinkering, and work the producer and recording artist(s) put into this song. Today they would just run it through computer program and pitch correct it. They're even going back and pitch correcting classics from previous eras before auto tune was around. It's like a museum owner or director touching up and painting over Rembrandts, van Goghs, and other masterpieces to his liking or to make them more compatible with modern styles.
