I was disturbed by the scenes of thomas x elizabeth kissing, and then the flashbacks of them having sex grossed me out that they took it that far. But then I go on the internet and there are some people that ship them?? like?? I know they want to show this abuse from elizabeths pov, but some part of me thinks it still looks too romanticised, and I just cant wait for elizabeth to finally do something instead of being manipulated.
yes. i thought it was unnecessary and hard to watch. i wish they wouldn’t have portrayed elizabeth “reciprocating” the feelings, or insinuating that they had sex, but at least the show runner somewhat regrets it now. i wish they would’ve realized their mistakes before the show was filmed though.
@@mistressseymour Now that I think about it, a few other gripes I had was that a) there is no way in a house with so many servants they could’ve had sex without someone finding out. I mean with Thomas and Catherine loudly having sex for the entire household to hear during the tutoring scene and Elizabeth always surrounded by servants /governess dressing and cleaning her room. It seems unlikely. B) I got the impression that Elizabeth was religious. I mean she united with Edward against her catholic sister. So why on earth would she ‘lose’ her virginity to Thomas? Knowing it was a sin and dangerous and how compromised she would be? Shes a princess ffs. Catherine Howard (almost the same age as Elizabeth when she was executed) was killed because she was accused of adultery. Surely Elizabeth would have been aware of this instead of risking it all for Thomas’ affection (which she already had ?) C) there are so many accounts from that time of Elizabeth trying to avoid Thomas. Why didn’t they show that instead of her kissing him back?? For example when he barged into the room she could’ve run and hid with her maids or something. (Which apparently did happen) It’s kind of a wasted opportunity imo . And Catharine parr claims to love this girl like a daughter but her reaction didn’t have enough rage to it. Like it just fell flat to me. Anyway rant over. Hope this weeks episode is better.
@@mistressseymour I don't like it I would rather that she rejected Thomas' advances and was getting romantically attracted to Robert instead of being infatuated with Thomas I don't like that she's willingly betraying Catherine who loved her like she's her own daughter. Is it just me or Mary is more likeable than Elizabeth in this show so far also Robert seems like he's really good for Elizabeth and tells her what he needs to hear and not what she wants to hear
I didn't think that they would show intimate scenes of Elizabeth with Thomas and was a little shocked, I hoped that their relationship would not come to this. I'm disgusted with Thomas and everything that happens between them, so I rewind their scenes. Most of all I like to watch Robert and Elizabeth, it seems to me that there is a pretty strong chemistry between them. I hope there will be more of them:)
Although, I can't stand Thomas (the historical Thomas Seymore) and his actions towards Elizabeth...the chemistry between the actors is freaking crazy hot. I'm really not into Robert yet. But I'm going to be sad when Thomas dies in the end. I believe that the storytelling is very interesting and remarkably accurate concerning how "grooming" used to be (and still is, in some cases) romanticized back in the day. The crazy thing about some history is that we'll never know for sure how far things actually got between Elizabeth and Thomas but this interpretation has been very interesting. It's a testament to the actors involved that they could tell this story and still have people rooting for them as a couple.

I love this show so much. It’s intense but I’ll say this- Elizabeth’s voice is terribly annoying.
