- In this video I showcase the brand new Sims 4 Family Tree builder called The Sims Tree. This web-based app is based off the original Plumtree App and offers a lot of similar functionalities. In this blind react I'm going over what i think of it!

Yeah I noticed the custom fields at the end of the video when looking at the paid features! Don’t know how I missed them but that is AWESOME!! You did an amazing job with this tree app because it looks absolutely stunning! 😍 I think being able to export your tree to a picture (for instance to share on other socials) additional to sharing it as a link would be a great addition! ☺️

I'd love to see your review on other family tree apps (designed for the Sims) if there are more. Honestly had no idea what I was going to do when Plum Tree app shut down, so it's great to see people trying to fill that gap. I currently use Sims Legacy Hub and love the new features they've added in the last couple of months.

Didn't the plum tree app also relaunch a few weeks ago?
@@user___xxx I don’t think it relaunched but I think a website under a very similar username using the (now public code of the plum tree app) launched. I think that’s the other one I wanted to review!
@@user___xxx I actually saw two different websites using the plumtreeapp code! I don't know yet how long they will be alive though. (But the advantage of them is that if you use them, you can import directly the zip folder if you kept it from previous plumtreeapp)

I'm trying this one out now and I have to say I'm liking it a lot better than the Sims Legacy Hub. Not only because it's more aesthetically pleasing to me, it's also a lot less overwhelming. And I already lost my family tree 3 times because of the Sims Legacy Hub. So it's an easy choice for me🤣 I do hope they will give us more trees for the free version and that they change the wording of some things like you said! And also an easy export option haha
I had been using the legacy hub family tree recently after starting a new legacy challenge, but their trait lists are definitely overwhelming and I like the vibe of this one way more. reminds me of the old plumb tree app!!

It doesn't necessarily need a "life stage" category. That is done by the photos if players are updating it regularly.
Yeah that is fair! I’m just a person who likes to keep the photo’s of them as an adult rather than changing it to elder at one point so I would like the life stage one but I can totally see that would not be relevant for everyone!
i like how this one looks better but i like more the customizing options of the other one lol
I think type underneath kind is what you can use to indicate what species they are. That's what I use it for anyway
I agree, I'm missing the relations customization. Even in the Plum Tree app, you couldn't do it. It would be nice to be able to see who is the birth parent and who is the step-parent
The Sims legacy hub (i also have a video on that one) can do this!! 😊
I just tried it, l'm on the free version of Sims Legacy Hub as well - so far, for me, Sims Legacy Hub wins, the lines are clearer :') though I do like the Character dashboard. And wish SLH did have a heir mode.
my only ick with this app is how we have to pay to make more then one dynasty. otherwise I enjoy it, but I guess everyone's money hungry anyway huh lol
9:47 Ro, can’t you make custom fields for the individual? Life Stage, Aspirations, Reward Traits, Character Values/Traits, career, etc? I’ll keep watching. I kind of like that it would rely so heavily on the custom fields because I could include character information specific to the mods I use. But would want my custom fields to carry over to every Sim 🤔
in fact we have unlimited additional fields for each sim and for the dynasty card😏
Yup, you can, on the paid version - it’s the same “Add Field” as you showcased on your founder’s card. I need to know if those fields carried over for you to the other sims?

Yeah I realized this at the end when I was looking over the paid features! I don’t know how I completely missed it 😅 But indeed, you could make everything custom so that is pretty cool!! 😍

Yeah I found that out later too!! I really like that idea 👏🏻 They also mention that they’re going to work on being able to share it as a picture too! Best of both worlds :)
You can barely use it when it’s free :/ such a shame tho!
Does anyone know if there will be an option to export the tree to save it as backup? I'm terrified of losing another tree!
I just made my legacy tree using this and it's great! My only, admittedly weird, complaint is that it's a little touchy with incest 😅😅 I use mods and ofc the ONE time I left them unpaused the twins woohooed and got pregnant... Fun times 😅😅 The website really doesn’t like trying to figure that one out 😂😂
😂😂 I’ve had my sims going at it with mother and daughter once too. The things our sims do when we don’t pay attention lol

You don’t have to pay, the site offers a free tree and you can also not use it 🤷🏼♀️
@@Rosannatxt I know i m not obligated to use it, my point is trees should work in a game properly. It's great they have a free tree, since in a Legacy hub I can't even look at my free trial tree anymore without subcription.
Yeah thats a very fair and valid point. I held out hope that maybe one day the in game tree would be better but then growing together came out and that was their opportunity to do it and they didn't... It's sad we have to find it outside of the game (even if it was all free)@@monasabbat9733
Can you make a family tree for free?
As you can read on their website you can create one tree for free, for what exactly is paid and free I’d suggest you check their excellent comparison on the homepage of the website as it explains exactly which features are free and which are paid 😊
