Great video! I'm short and overweight and wish I was tall so I could wear "oversized" clothes without looking sloppy. My favourite ways to elevate outfits are with big, glam sunglasses and pointy shoes. I recently bought a long blazer in a cream/pink colour and love the way it looks when I pop the collar and put my hair in a high ponytail/low bun. Now that we're transitioning to spring (southern hemisphere) I am definitely going to try rolling up the sleeves!
Unexpected combining! That's my tool. Every time, when I feel that I'm fed up with all I was wearing, I mix the things that I thought were unmixable, feels very refreshing)) and really try to avoid buying new stuff on that point, because it never solves the problem
Adding statement earrings. They can match the vibe or be contrasting but I immediately feel more myself and put together when I'm wearing bold earrings
Would love if you could do a video on outfits that actually work for everyday vs outfits that are “standing in front of a mirror outfits”. I find that sometimes I love an outfit but the minute I take my hands out of my pockets and start walking it doesnt look as good, or the tucking gets untucked, or it just becomes too fussy to continuously fiddle with to get it to look nice.
I'm a "29" year old grandmother and have always liked the vivid hair colors I see younger women wear. Around a year ago, I took the plunge and went blue (been purple and copper too). My style is very much like yours but when I tell you the unexpected pop of color on my hair has been a game changer! Love...love...love ❤️ your channel.
1. All black 2. Tonal dressing/ monochromes 3. Jewellery and accessories 4. Play with your clothing - roll the sleeves, little tucks, buttons undone, tieing, etc. 5. Add some unexpected factors to the outfit - silk and denim

I love your channel. I felt so much pressure when I found minimalism. My husband was concerned that I was getting rid of everything but I saw people declutter with no regrets. Sadly, I now have many regrets and have realized the pressure to be a full minimalist was like a shitty crash diet and I gained all the weight back. I love your more moderate approach.
I love this, and soooo timely. Have a girls' weekend coming up and I struggled with not buying anything for the outings planned. You've inspired me to work with what I have in my wardrobe and feeling good, knowing I already have abundant stylish items in my closet. Thank you thank you!

Makeup, makeup, makeup! 💋And a touch of drama (a hat, colorful gloves, a scarf or sexy stockings). My style is pretty classic, however I try not to look boring (and like everybody else) with little boosts like these. Sequins dressed down and metallics on daytime make magic every time ✨
Totally agree about the all black. When I wear all black I feel like 10/10 ✨️ When I wear navy (or a combination of navy and black) I feel 9/10. When I wear white or light grey I feel 8/10. I love an all navy look if I want something softer. Or seeing my parents who give me a hard time about my love of black 😅
@@Christinamychas I've honestly tried to "change" but I always come back to black. If you look at my style over the last 10 years I've experimented a lot, the one constant - the colour black!
My daughter, aged 40+, has been wearing all black for three decades. She looks like an undertaker, or some character from a spooky film. To me, it is unflattering, boring, predictable, and safe. Perfect for the lady who wants to disappear into the background & no contest alongside girls in glorious colour, who easily outshine her. She needs help, not encouragement!!!!!!
@@greenjewel509 If you find black unflattering, boring, predictable and safe then YOU shouldn't wear it. If your daughter likes it then why does it matter? Don't you want your daughter to be happy? And don't you think a 40+ WOMAN should be allowed to wear whatever the hell she wants?...
I'm not a fan of all black - it drags me down. It looks great on other people though! But I do love tonal/monochromatic dressing for sure :) my go-to monochromatic/tonal outfits are forest/olive greens, mustards, burgundy, rust, and browns.
Great ideas here, these play well into my new venture - a no-buy year 😬💪👏 I also use double-sided fabric tape (Fashion Tape) to create shapes, looks, or small texture details. I often pull out the collars of button-downs to create a more dramatic v-neck look, which flatters my apple shape. I cut a strip in half and tape it down near the outside of the collar.

Christina, you’ve put together some great looks. I particularly like your blazers. And that croc bag is to die for. You wear black so well. But I as a Soft Summer have discovered that the deepest shades of charcoal grey, burgundy, midnight blue and emerald green substitute wonderfully for black. These colours work well with each other, with related hues and with white or cream.
such a wonderful video - So empowering - great fashion, creativity with no spend. PS - Einzelganger's video "The Less You Want, the More You Have" might be something you will like.
Love this!! Can you share your favorite brands for trousers and blazers? I’m working to get rid of some baby weight post partum and I want to get some nice trousers once I get back to my self
I think, something that usually gets left out is the use of fragrance or perfume, it's doesn't have to be a super loud smell, it can be something settled and can definitely change the way you feel about your outfit ( I just discovered your channel and I love your videos 😁❤️)
Use your belt as a styling tool. For example, with an opened button-up blouse, take the ends and loop each end over the belt off-center at the front. It is a different way to achieve the French tuck look . . . cleaner and it stays in place.
Loved you advice about going for a tonal look - even though I love black, I myself have very low contrast in my complexion, so all black look might look a bit harsh on me, but going head to toe navy or charcoal is a great and simple look!
Now that you have decluttered your wardrobe, do you find that you are slowly filling it back up again? I decluttered about a year ago, I got down to under a 100 items total, but it just seems like slowly I just keep adding more again..
OMG def feel the same! I have been adding this year for sure but I don’t feel the pressure to have a minimalist wardrobe anymore. I try to stick to one in, one out so it doesn’t feel overwhelming, being mindful that I’m not decluttering just bc I may temporarily want something new. Mostly I’ve just been rolling with it.
I think in depends where you live. I notice that when I'm in San Francisco that black looks great but when I'm in San Diego black looks so out of place...hardly anyone wears black in SD whereas in SF...who doesn't wear black?😄
Yes, this is so apparent in Australia, too. Down here in the south east, we have a lot of black, galleries, cafe society, etc. Go to Queensland, to the Gold Coast especially and black is only ever seen in a tux at a formal event, and a bikini, and that last one is unusual. The designer of a great beach brand, Tigerlily, said once that she couldn’t give away a black bikini north of Eden (between Melb and Sydney). I wear black shirt dresses and long tanks with palazzo pants when I’m there, but I totally recognise what you’re saying. I couldn’t live in the tropics - black is bad news when the sun is airfrying you! It’s so endlessly interesting to see these factors and influences. 👏

May I suggest - no ripped jeans or frayed hems . An elevated look is well-made clothing for a true " finished " look , not a shabby , " faux poor " look .
It very much depends on one's style. Ripped jeans or frayed hems don't look "cheap" if you style them with taste. It's not the most classically elegant look, but classical style is not the only one out there.
