For me the Nr. 1 Signaturen-Song of the 80s , the Lyrics are timeless and touching The Piano Intro - once heard, the Memory remains for Life Masterpiece
Bass Player and Drummer taking this song to incredible, groovy, places! Unreal. And Bruce's playing, never heard him sound so good ... definitely grown a lot jazzier. Terrific.
Bruce Hornsby is also a real pianist unlike many of those "wanabes" out there. It makes a heck of a difference especially when taking a solo or writing a piano part. Cheers.
When this came out and I'd be sleeping, THIS song could awaken me from a deep slumber in to such joy. Boy if I could have sing this song with this band, I be giddy. WOW👑👑👑
Soy Mexicano y, desde que conocí a éste gran artista, mi vida hizo cambio, en aquellos días del 80 y tantos mi pequeña hija y yo disfrutamos mucho a buen Hornsby, a mi parecer un genio.
I had no idea he still played his original hit with the Range from 1986. It just took 35 years for me to hear it again close to the original sound. Bruce Hornsby left Rock behind and the Range five years later in 1991 (he just did two highly successful albums with them and won multiple awards back then). Since then he has been successful with other things outside the rock sound as he did not want to do that anymore, but this is what he is going to be remembered for - along with Valley Road and the other hits he did with the Range (and the Don Henley single he did with him).

Phew! From the thumbnail I thought that was Trevor Bauer behind him! I was like “please Bruce! Say it ain’t so!” Anyways I still find this to be one of the most beautiful songs ever written, a true masterpiece. I so so so miss when music was music and not one guy making “beats” on a computer! Maybe I just couldn’t hear it right, but I miss the iconic bass intro from the studio version! Lol Also, the Tupac song that samples this is a masterpiece as well!
Just some great musos having fun with the guy that made the song still giving it all his heart. I always wondered what happened to Bruce. One of my all time fav songs.
Bruce & the range performed in a little club called The Brewery on Hillsborough st in Raleigh just before his first album blew up... and I missed it. I did get to see him at walnut creek ampli theatre some years later with Bonnie Raitt.
To the person who kept letting out the big long screams during the song, the musicians just love that.....keep it up. Don't ever let anyone tell you that it's one of the most low class things that you can do.

LOVE Bruce to eath- I have all his CD's--but honestly I get a little tired of his frequent journeys into ligeti and Stockhausen- very clever but I could do without them. Also can really do with less dulcimer ( apologies). Here is Bruce playing a classic the way that people remember it. I love to hear songs the way they were recorded and he should do more of it! I know Bruce feels that he should be constantly changing and moving on - I just wish he would occasionally just pause and realise that some people just want to hear the original versions of his classics.
Possibly one of the best crafted songs of all time.
Glad he's still playing
Could not agree more, and this band absolutely slams it. That drummer is at 11 lol
I was reborn after hearing Bruce after 40 years. A dream come true.
Just one of the best riffs ever written. Never gets old.
One of the greatest songs ever, and that's just the way it is!!
Billy Kilson on the drums killing the groove...What a beautiful song!!!!!

I first saw Bruce Hornsby and The Range at the Manchester Apollo, back in 1984. Fabulous band..the soundtrack to America.
Oh my god what an gift we NEED more of this in life everywhere all the time I love this so much!
Absolutely superb song... musically, arrangement, virtuosity, lyrics, everything. What a talent.
I just Love his music after all these years!!! Time has flown!
When this came out and I'd be sleeping, THIS song could awaken me from a deep slumber in to such joy. Boy if I could have sing this song with this band, I be giddy. WOW👑👑👑
Simply breathtaking...thank you so much, Bruce!
Good to see Gibb Droll on guitar with Bruce. Two of my favorites from VA.
Love this song, brings back memories of high school.

Bruce has such a wonderful piano style! After just a few notes you can tell it is him!
Amazing that after all the years.. The song works.
i love how the entire band can feed off Bruce and have enough skill and talent to flow with him. Just brilliant

Pure genius! Just wonderful! Saw him up front from the third row back in 1988 or 1990 or so. It was utterly transcendent!

Love this song especially the lyrics
Stay healthy bruce... Awesome piece of music
Wow.
I wrote the words into the on duty log in San Diego when I was there in 87. Standing fire watch. It still resonates. Ahead of his time....
A classic.....
Con el tiempo que transcurre pero te seguimos oyendo. 💪
Ameiii
🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
Classic intro, but loves his improv ....the man comes arounds!! JT on fire here!!
Excelente melodía me recuerda mis tiempos de universidad.
He is the man on the piano.
Una gran voz y pianista con este tema ganaron grandes premios en los estados unidos como no recordarlos vivan forever
extraordinario, como siempre
I wonder if he ever gets tired of playing that. I never tire of hearing it😂.

Just if I only could've been there. It would be awesome to have you guys visit Tampere, Finland some day! I'd be there to enjoy some great music 🔥.
That screamer kinda makes it tough to listen loudly.
Drummer drowns too. Just a bit less please.
100% agree. Hoped for one final scream as they get knocked out lol
Magnifico
Bruce is the King.
Fantastic!
Whew!!! That screamer ruined the vid.
Exactly. At least she got the attention she so desperately craved. Annoying.
I thought the drum intro ruined it
AGREED!!!
Seriously, but I sorta can understand 🤷
He's amazing!!!!!😊
Best song ever ….. Tupac cover was also superb and shows what a good song this is
Una excelente canción.. !!😀
Fabulous band ,fabulous song... but someone put that howling woman out of misery. Please!

Lower the drums and stick a sock in that loudmouth screamer. Bruce still can play though.
