One environmental advantage of using GM is that you need less land since the agricultural yield per plant is higher. On environmental disadvantage, is that it case of a pest or disease that kills the plants, most likely all, or most will die, due to low genetic diversity.

isnt mechanization and the shift from agrilcultural to industrial another evolution which is the second agricultural evolution/industrial revolution? and green revolution/third agrilcutural revolution is based on GMO and fertilizers/pesticides
