this brings back memories! I was there for the prom praise and well remember. Prom Praise was and is always a special time of worship putting Jesus at the centre. King of Kings and Lord of Lord Jesus.
Wow wow wow!! What a beautiful rendition! Perfect! I was reading John 1:29-35… and I remembered our small choir singing Behold The Man at church a few decades ago. I search for the song and found this. How beautifully sung. My only other surprise is how little “likes” it has received! 🤔
Verse 1 Behold the Man, wounded and bruised, crowned with thorns. He was despised, and rejected; He was despised, and rejected. Behold the Man, Man of Sorrows, acquainted with grief. We hid our faces from Him; we hid our faces from Him. Chorus We did not know that it was for our sins He died; That for us the Son of God was crucified; That in love He bore our sorrow and pain, And in love He willingly suffered. Verse 2 Behold the Man, suffering in silence, bearing our shame. We hid our faces from Him; we hid our faces from Him. Chorus 2 We did not know that this was God the Father's plan, Born of love to bring redemption down to man, That in love He gave His only Son so that we might be forgiven. Verse 3 Behold the Man, risen in glory, coming to reign. By the Father exalted, crowned with glory and honor. Behold the Man, King of Kings, and Lord of Lords. Through all creation Jesus Christ is Lord. He is Lord! He is Lord! He is Lord!
Again, such a timeless piece of sacred piece of music! Recently I returned from Israel, where I stood at sites such as The Mount of Olives, Via Dolorosa, Golgotha, The Garden Tomb and the Mount of Ascension. As a vocalist, so many different songs came to my mind, and this was one of them. Songs which I had previously felt and sung, but never actually experienced. Now they will be used in my own personal music ministry, as a means to augment my songs of praise and worship. I would be happy to share any of my Israel photographs with you, as they relate to musical pieces, which you, too, could project as a means to visually augment your musical repertoire! Thanks so much for sharing your musical gifts, and that of All Souls Orchestra. God Bless! Esther Hall Gordon

Thank you so much! It's such a beautifully written tune - I’m surprised more people don’t search for it. 😊

Most beautiful performance of this song i have heard.
despite all the things we hear on the news, it's important to remember who is really in control of this world, "Behold the Man"
Verse 1
Behold the Man, wounded and bruised,
crowned with thorns.
He was despised, and rejected;
He was despised, and rejected.
Behold the Man, Man of Sorrows,
acquainted with grief.
We hid our faces from Him;
we hid our faces from Him.
Chorus
We did not know
that it was for our sins He died;
That for us the Son of God was crucified;
That in love He bore our sorrow and pain,
And in love He willingly suffered.
Verse 2
Behold the Man,
suffering in silence,
bearing our shame.
We hid our faces from Him;
we hid our faces from Him.
Chorus 2
We did not know
that this was God the Father's plan,
Born of love
to bring redemption down to man,
That in love He gave His only Son
so that we might be forgiven.
Verse 3
Behold the Man, risen in glory,
coming to reign.
By the Father exalted,
crowned with glory and honor.
Behold the Man, King of Kings,
and Lord of Lords.
Through all creation
Jesus Christ is Lord.
He is Lord! He is Lord! He is Lord!
This reminds me of Jimmy and Carol Owens album.
Congratulations to the All Souls Orchestra and their pianist Richard Lennox.
Wow this was fabulous. What a powerful piece of music.
I had never heard this song before today. I love all the words. Beautiful. Thank you. What a treat.
Song is from the 1970's. Annie Herring sang it in a cantata.
@@angieangerstein4 thank you 😊
Taken from the musical "If my people" by Jimmy Owens who also wrote "Come Together," both from the mid 1970's.

I too had that experience of Biblical truths coming alive in Israel. And I concur that this song is a great Christian song and a great Easter anthem.
