It’s something that isn’t exactly gate kept, but it something that’s only talked about in the shadows. What’s the business side of this life style that grassroots drifters and new Motorsports teams can learn to make the cost more manageable? Things like starting a LLC for your program and then making it so things can be deductible. Or around that gist of things
I've been reading up on LLC's and Sole Proprietorships as I'll be "officially" starting my business. Unofficially been going for a few years now. One thing to keep in mind, and it may be a state per state thing. You have to turn a profit eventually. If you are something like, neg so many years in a row or something like 3 of 5. You will be considered a hobby and that effects doing stuff like your're talking about with write offs. Just something I've learned in this process. Actually had a customer at my prior place of employment that had that happen to him and the government wanted to collect money from him for the years are him writing stuff off. Would also like to hear anything Nate has on this. I have a 2.5 year old and maybe I can use my business in the future to help fund his, if he wants to, race hobby.
