Maybe they were just strict in Miss Saigon.. not sure.. but i heard a story from Lea Salonga that during her time in MS. There was a weekly weigh in just for her to monitor her weight or if she need to lose some. She felt isolated cos it's only her who need to undergo go that weekly. So the demand for that character was not just vocally but physically as well.

I was fortunate enough to see the show this past week, it was incredible! I was so glad that it came back in 2022, semi-post-Covid and that a number of performers from the OBC were not only still with the show, but were there on Wednesday! Eva, Reeve Carney, Jewelle Blackman (Persephone), Patrick Page, Andre de Shields… amazing! I have always loved seeing blogs that credit other members of the show that don’t always get the “applause”. The details in the staging, set design and costuming really brought me to Hadestown. I love that you, Eva, highlighted the rings! They add this little extra detail and depth to the story and the character! Thank you cast and crew of Hadestown 2022!! It was a really great show. It put a smile on my face and reminded me how much I’ve missed going to shows and being around people the last 2 years.
I’m an usher at the Orpheum theater in Minneapolis and I’m so hooked after seeing it. I wanna go to New York and see you perform!

The show is AMAZING. Do what you have to do in order to see it. The staging, the performances, it’s just phenomenal. If you’re in NYC, do the rush for tickets. We rushed for Wednesday matinee and for standing room. The usher told us we could sit in any empty seats we could find once intermission started. We ended up fourth row center orchestra and we only paid $39 a ticket.
Would love to see/hear from the costume department and dressers and also the band!! Well done for your first episode 💛
