Along with his vast product knowledge, he repeatedly acknowledges his team and the vintage community that helped Rogers “get it right.” This is the kind of leadership that other companies should follow. I own a 1973 Rodgers kit that originally had that wood panel wrap. It was fun for a while until I realized that I kept blending into a lot of walls and corners of stages that looked exactly the same so I had the kit wrapped in a blue sparkle finish. The drums themselves sound awesome and they are perfect for my style of playing
I'm the proud owner and player of an early 70's Fullerton-era Rogers Powertone kit, which I absolutely love. Just like the video says, they're just inspiring to play! I much prefer playing them compared to a few other newer kits that I own. I'm definitely considering a new Powertone kit for my next purchase!
I've been playing a Dayton era Rogers kit since the mid-sixties. In the last few years I've added the new 6.5 inch wood shell Dynasonic and a B7 brass 8 inch Dynasonic. They are both fantastic sounding drums.
When i started playing in the late 1970's, Rogers were still alive with the big R badge, about the time Tama started taking off. I really liked thos kit's and wish i had purchased one them. I hope that era of Rogers comes back, too.
Loving the sound of these Roger’s! When I then learned that Bill D from Pork Pie was involved with the shells makes sense I love the new Roger’s - I own a Pork Pie snare drum and it’s amazing.
I'm VERY happy to see Rogers back on the map. My first Rogers set was in 1970, and at that time, Rogers quality was obviously superior. About a year ago, I bought a 1972 bass drum and two toms. I added the new brass Dynasonic and the Dyno-matic pedal, and love them both. I've been buying vintage Swiv-O-Matic pedals for over 30 years, and as nice as they were, the new version is superior. (no more 50 year old needle bearings!) Looking forward to all the new Rogers drums. Thank you, Ken!

Your mention of Pork Pie Drums and Bill Detamore is a great sign of the quality that would be present in any Rogers gear that he had an input on as Pork Pie drums are better than any drums I have played on including my own DW Collectors kit. What might be the differences of significance between Rogers and Pork Pie kits. Why were the rails discontinued in the states though. What problems were there for it?

I wish they’d re make the bread and butter lugs for the toms and bass drums. The ones they have now are the double ended lugs for center lug snares.

They sound good tuned that way. Through the 60s and 70s, they were always tuned higher.
They almosttt talked about the hi hat stand, but only ended up talking about the clutch. What a shame, no info about the hi hat stand anywhere
