    2:34 Lol, no. The Quran doesn't say that Arabs are God's chosen people. Pan-Arabism, especially of the Nasserist and Baathist varieties which dominated up until the '70s, were pretty explicitly secular. Baathism's founder was literally a Christian.
    3:18 Turkey isn't Arab

      The Rhetorician
      You're surely right on the last point. In fact, ww1-era Arab nationalism had to be directed primarily against the Turks. As for Aflaq, he may have been from the Christian community, but I don't know anything about his ACTUAL beliefs, whether he met rational and Biblical criteria of Christian faith, namely
      'that if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.' (Romans 10:9)
      You see, even the notorious atheist Richard Dawkins has described himself as a 'cultural Christian'---------which makes no sense at all. What I have READ from second-hand sources is that Aflaq acknowledged and seemingly ENDORSED the central place of islam in Arabic culture. It is not the acknowledgement but the ENDORSEMENT which I find reprehensible from a Christian perspective, because islam DENIES the historical DATA which are fundamental to Christian faith------------namely, the DEATH of Jesus in Jerusalem under Roman authority and His bodily RESURRECTION from the dead. In short, islam is based on HISTORICAL REVISIONISM (i.e. wishful thinking of a malignant sort).
      If he was more than just a turncoat and opportunist, if he thought that secularization might provide a measure of protection against persecution for the Christian community, Aflaq would have been right. Despite their massive human rights abuses, Baathist regimes have not been accused of major anti-Christian persecution. But that wouldn't have made it easy for people from the Christian communities. Why else would Michael Yuhanna have changed his name professionally to Tariq Aziz?

      Probably a lot of people are under that delusion because o the automatic mental association of Arabs with islam. The importance of islam in history is vastly overrated, I think, because of the noise created by islamic terrorism during the past 25 years or so.
      But according to faulty reasoning, not only Turks and Persians would have to be 'Arab'; so also Indonesians in Jakarta or Slavs in Sarajevo, which is RIDICULOUS.
      Arabs are mentioned in the Old and New Testaments of the Bible. Christianity began among Jews, but according to Acts 2:11 some Arabic speakers were present in Jerusalem on the Day of Pentecost, which is widely seen as the birthday of the Christian Church. Antioch, then in Syria, was one of its earliest headquarters. (As I understand, Antioch or Antakya is now in Turkish territory. But the Turks must still have been in Central Asia at that time.)

Akhi please don’t hate Arabs, I’m from Morocco and I know it’s difficult for the Berber people sometimes with the Arabist government, but that doesn’t mean we need to hate each other and always deny Arabs and everything to do with them in North Africa, Majority of North Africans Self Identify as Arab, so The Arab Ideals, Culture and Language are all very prominent in North Africa. Instead of Splitting our own Countryfolk apart we should always be united, strong under one banner Islam. • @jesusislordsavior6343
      @jesusislordsavior6343 4 роки тому +4

      Rick Rickets
      There were ancient empires which promoted 'diversity': the Persian, the Greek under Alexander, and the Roman. This was NO NEW IDEA.
      However Jews and Christians under islam were required to pay a head tax, the 'jizya', is that not so? So maybe 'diversity' was not valued as highly as you think. Note that in contemporary Saudi Arabia and Iran, the practice of Christianity is either illegal or strongly discouraged. Reportedly since the fall of Saddam Hussein in 2003, the Iraqi Christian population has been reduced by OVER ONE MILLION. That's 'islamic tolerance' for you. As the Bible says, you will know them by their fruits.
      Under Ottoman rule, Christian minorities in BOTH Europe and Western Asia were subject to periodic massacres. Never mind that the presence of Christianity in the region PRECEDED islam by centuries. So islam was a 'new kid on the block', a HERESY and a SUPERSTITION. Who besides the pagan Mongols could outdo muhammad's followers in brutality?
      As for 'golden years', the Bible has this to say:
      (Ecclesiastes 7:10)
      Do not say, "Why is it that the former days were better than these?" For it is not from wisdom that you ask about this.'

      For WHAT religion is valid if not based on truth?
      Islam denies historical FACTS regarding Jesus of Nazareth, in order to support a false, heretical, and soul-destroying theology.
      Jesus MOST CERTAINLY died on a Roman cross and MOST CERTAINLY rose from the dead. The evidence was on the record for about six centuries before muhammad's
      career began. All this happened in fulfilment of Hebrew prophecies made centuries before that.
      Muhammad was a false prophet, and so long as people follow him they cannot inherit eternal life.

    also when you say all the Christians in Lebanon didn't support a pan arab state that is not entirely true.The Orthodox population supported a reunion with Syria founding parties like the SSNP that were against the French attempt at a catholic state in the Middle East (Lebanon)

    • @silasbishop3055
      @silasbishop3055 6 років тому +3

      Yes, but the Orthodox were not Pan-Arab. They were and are Pan-Syrian. The only reason Christian groups supported the idea to begin with was for security.

    • @MichaelFarah961
      @MichaelFarah961 5 років тому +5

      Arab nationalism and Syrian nationalism were created by the Maronites in Lebanon, surprisingly. The Orthodox in Lebanon are among the most staunch of Lebanese nationalists. So you can't make a blanket statement like that. The Lebanese, for the most part, are Lebanese nationalists. This is the Right to Self Determination that the Lebanese suffered for. Anyway, Arabism is dead, and Syrian nationalism is disagreed upon, well, at least the idea of it according to those who claim to be Syrian nationalists.

    • @silasbishop3055
      @silasbishop3055 5 років тому +2

      The Lebanese didn't "suffer" for self determination. The French carved the Maronite majority areas out of Syria and added some other areas to make the country viable. Arabism is dead. Levantines are generally all related along ethno-religious lines. The Druze in Lebanon are related to the Druze in Israel. The Orthodox in Lebanon are related to the Orthodox in Syria and Turkey.

    • @MichaelFarah961
      @MichaelFarah961 5 років тому

      Silas Bishop The consensus among the majority of all peoples within what now constitutes the Lebanese Republic were in favor of establishing a sovereign state. The centuries of Ottoman dominance, the mid-1800’s war along tribal lines, and the Mount Lebanon famine were all factors that made the Lebanese nationalist movement take a different discourse. Ask the Lebanese if they want to be part of Syria, the vast majority will say no. The Maronites have a strong connection to Syria, actually.

    • @silasbishop3055
      @silasbishop3055 5 років тому

      How does that change anything? The French still carved it out. Why not include Wadi al Nasara or Coastal Syria? Why was Antioch given to Turkey? Why were the Druze and Syriac areas around Lebanon not included in Lebanon? It was carved out by France for the Maronites to control. In the end, it doesn't matter. Demographics have changed. Lebanon is no longer what it was planned to be. There are more Maronites in Sao Paulo than in Lebanon.

    Israel is still the biggest roadblock towards Arab unity. The entire Arab movement depended on Jerusalem as it's capital. This is the true bridge between East and West, for Arabs at least. It's not really comparable to any other situation to this degree. Maybe the US takeover of Panama but even then it's still Spanish people living there. Israel only matters because it's the linchpin of United Arab World.

      And Arabic language originated in the Nejd and Hejaz, there is no doubt about it. Iraq was Iranian colony, never spoek Arabic until the Saudis kicked the Sassanids and conquered it. Whether you like or not that's the fact.

      The Crusaders also lived in the Levant, so does that make the Crusaders less European? Umayyad empire was founded by Mu'awiya, who was from Saudi Arabia, born and lived his life between Mecca, Ta'if, Medina and Nejd, until he became 42, When the Caliph Umar of Medina appointed him as the Saudi governor over Syria, after the Saudis slaughtered thousands of Byzantine Greeks and their Syriac Slaves. the Second founder of Umayyad empire was Marwan I, who was born in Ta'if and was governor of Medina, the 2 most important Umayyad Caliphs are Abd al-Malik and al-Walid I, both born in Saudi Arabia. All the Umayyad governors, soldiers, generals were from Saudi Arabia such as al-Hajjaj al-Thaqafi, Abu'l A'war etc... Umayyad empire was 100 % a Saudi empire.

Aflaq went to Saddam Hussein to Iraq and claimed that only Iraqi Baath Party is correct.

    Mohammed himself was a fierce Arab nationalist, even he was fanatic to his own tribe "Quraish" especially the "Bani Hashim" clan. The Quran prides itself that it is written in Arabic. However, Nasser was the true hero of Arab Nationalism"

      Nasser could not overcome Israel militarily, hard though he tried. Why did Arab states waste their energies fighting Israel, when GOD had promised in ancient times to restore them to their land? Have you read the prophecy of Ezekiel chapter 37? It would have helped the Arab leaders to know the Bible better!
      It is because he knew the Bible that the US president, Harry Truman, supported Israel in 1948, though it was not a very popular position at the time. A lot of Westerners were not very sympathetic toward Jews, despite the Holocaust.
      How sad that Anwar Sadat, who ended up choosing peace with Israel, was martyred for his decision.

      No, YOUR notion that the ancient Hebrews
      (who did not live exclusively in desert areas) conceived of God as a 'desert God' is a MYTH.
      If God creates the heavens and the earth (see Genesis 1:1), how was He subsequently relegated to the desert? don't think you know your Old Testament very well.
      Bitten by the antisemitic bug? Dangerous disease. Look what happened to Haman in the book of Esther: hanged on the very gallows he had built for Mordecai, the Jew.
      There's a lesson in that.
      If God was the God of the USSR, though the ruling party refused to recognize Him as such, I don't see why He can't be God of the modern State of Israel as well. His title and authority are the same, regardless what people think.
      Furthermore it says in Romans 13:1b that
      'all authority is from God, and those which exist are established by God.'
      Does that mean that God puts tyrants in place? When people are determined to have them, He sometimes lets them have their way.

Who said "أنا النبي لا كذب أنا ابن عبدالمطلب". The Quran does pride itself to be written in Arabic " assuming you read Quran, how many times you came across 'quraanan arabyian '. People from those Arab country’s who are of Mixed Ethnicity and Identify as Arabs because that’s what they speak and the culture is the same are different, but Ethnic Arabs reside in every Arab country so no they don’t only live in Yemen or Saudi Arabia, the most Full Blood Arabs meaning a person is of 85-100% Arab ethnicity come from Saudi and Yemen, Yes. Not to mention that most of the people in those Arab counties are descended directly from the caliphates that came to rule these regions, the capital of the Umayeds was Damascus, which was not in Arabia, and for the record, the Jordanians are directly from Hijaz, with the royal family tracing itself directly to the Meccan Banu Hashem. Again, magnificently ignorant, which would explain a lot about your current state of affairs over there.
