LarcenTyler I am not sure because I live in Nova Scotia not Conneticut. However I think the train normally leaves Vermont with the loco leading and reverses direction at Hartford so that the cab control car is leading.
After the Conn river line reroute on December 29 2015 the ver monter now consits of 1 P42 GE Genesis 4 Amfleet I "Coachclass" Cars 1 Amfleet I Café/Business Class Car After the date listed above the P42 will ALWAYS Lead the Vermonter regardless of derection or location. Hoped that helped! :)

Why do the cab cars have locomotive bogies?
Because they were previously used as EMU's
I'll be riding the Vermonter from Hartford to New Haven next week. If it's a push-pull train, would the cab car be leading or the locomotive?
