Black smoke is wasted fuel, too high on the injector rate above timing with a pd.
If you want a reliable tuned tdi, it needs that smoke. The "wasted fuel" that you mentioned is used to not melt the pistons due to high EGT. More boost you pump in the engine, more will be the EGT (exhaust gases temperature)
Just get a dpf map init

I have a mk4 in a jelly mould… A beetle, it’s a pd 100 but with a 150 inlet manifold, egr delete and remapped. Hardly smokes at all though.
I’m not criticising but I’m sure pd 150 injectors will max out at 220hp, if not you’ll be killing them, unless you’re going for replacements ?
More like 270-280, here in Portugal we go crazy with the pds
pd 150 BE injectors max 230hp, 1856 turbo safe 260 need +50% nozzle
130/150 550cc injectors will do about 260bhp max.
They're running a high lift 272° cam though so can inject a bit more fuel for longer hence the expected extra 20bhp.

Vnt turbo's don't have a waste gate so no screamer pipe possible

With Some Firad 100% or 120% you will hit 280/300 safer with lower egts, and if you decide to upgrade to bigger turbo in future you'd have the potential fueling for it
