Fiancé and I did four months of full time this summer-fall and I must agree, the planning never ends. Staying with family during the holidays and it is so nice not to have to think of “what’s next?” for a while. Loved the video! Cant wait to see what y’alls next adventure is!
This is a great RV channel, and I cannot figure out why you two do not have at least 100,000 subs. I'm really new to your channel, and I have been binge watching. Take care, and stay safe.
I have been full-time for about 3 1/2 years in a 2000 Monaco dynasty 40 foot motorhome. I am retired so I have it a lot easier than you guys and I never move as much as you guys have this summer. I think my shortest day last summer was a week in one spot But I almost always am camping on some type of free land. One thing I’m sure you guys have learned that were no one asked about is you better be handy and have tools living in an RV because there is always something to adjust, tighten, or fix. Thank you for the video.o
We hear you on travel planning burnout. We full-time (100% boondocking) and only move every 2 weeks…and even that’s a bit much most times. But we love the slow travel style.
If I may say, on meeting “friends” on the road, in todays society, that’s difficult when the trust level has dropped so low. I would enjoy meeting the both of you and the conversations that follow. But I ain’t on the road yet and I do have a bottle of Merlot for y’all.
Just an FYI - Florida DOES have free land to camp on - but it all requires reservations. Their water management districts allow free camping in designated areas, along with some wildlife areas! Our family has taken advantage of camping on them all 3 times we have been to Florida on winter trips! Can be frustrating as they aren't always the best managed, and some people don't care which site they occupy- even if it's yours 🤪 - but others are really nice with onsite campground hosts!
Ohio has a very small amount of free camping. A.E.P ELECTRIC has some land that is free to camp on. I spose it would work for a few days passing thru to save a few dollars. Good video!. Thanks!!
Great video, thanks for the honest answers. Now I know why you’re so good in front of the camera, Rachel; being that fluid and comfortable doesn’t come easy for most.
Very well done... very good and helpful information! I am a ways from being able to make a major lifestyle change, but I'm trying to absorb others' experiences so I can pick up bits and pieces... none of our journeys are the same. Good luck to you guys, as you make your next moves!
Good video and very informative. I personally love to hear about your real life trials and tribulations. I had a 28 ft Airstream Sarahi and loved it. Hope you can find one as I’m sure you will enjoy it. Thanks for the video and Merry Christmas to both of you.
Great Q & A video. Super appreciate the genuine answers. Things like “Not on a trip”, and “The UA-cam rabbit hole” etc. are things I think about (not necessarily those specific words) but it’s good for me to hear out loud. Sorta sinks in a little better.
I appreciate the honesty in the video. I know you don’t stay or like to stay at RV parks a ton, but I would think finding like minded people/friends would be easier find in RV parks. We do have a home and RV (travel trailer) so we are not in the same position you guys are in. We camp with friends who are basically in the same position. I hope anything you guys do, works out for you. Enjoy the holidays.
Thanks so much! We started staying at RV parks more often this fall while we were out east. We always meet really nice people! It's just the constantly moving around part that makes it tough to form friendships. Thanks for watching and commenting!
There's an ancient movie, "If This Is Tuesday, This Must Be Belgium". I think it's every full-timer's intention to see the entire country in far too short a time period. You are right, traveling is exhausting and constantly on your mind. I solved this by Workamping... pick an area of the country that works for you - typically in the South or Texas - then seek a position Workamping for a few months. Not only free site rental to cut down on expenses, but a better opportunity to meet people who might become long-term acquaintances. The benefits of RV-ing while not constantly hunting for the closest grocery/hardware/propane store. Good luck... I hope you will continue to enjoy this way of life!!
Yes! I wish I would have known more about workamping before we hit the road. I met a handful of people taking advantage of those type of opportunities!
I would love a video or info on boondocking...We've been FT for about 5 months, but always staying in state parks or campgrounds, we have shore power. Lost with where to start for needs of boondocking when we head west this summer
Western states are so wonderful for boondocking and camping in general! We are solar-powered so that's how we were able to boondock quite a bit in the summer. We could go a week easily before we needed to refill water and dump our tanks. Only issue is we don't have a generator so we can't run our AC if we're not plugged into shore power.
Ha that's a great question! I don't have it in front of me but I can tell you the most expensive gas was nearly $7/gallon in Mammoth Lakes, CA back in August!
Wow
Good video. It’s nice to hear another perspective from other full timers.

This sounds very similar to us! Enjoy the much needed break :)

That sounds like a great way to do it! Even when we moved once a week it was too much.
Good job, love your channel.

Gotta watch this when I get home tonight, just saw it pop in while at work. Can’t miss this one!

Oh I'm jealous! Renovating an Airstream would be such a dream. Maybe someday :)

Glad to hear you found it interesting! The UA-cam rabbit hole is very real haha
Another excellent, well thought out sharing time. Thanks! Very sad for you guys regarding Denver. Hoping you had insurance-watch your bank accounts.
This was great, thanks for answering the questions!
Thank you for watching!

What was your total gas expense this year?

@@WorkinfortheWild I am sure that truck got thirsty especially pulling that camper. Glad the cost has gone down.
Ok so how did they get stolen your Verizon and t-mobile wifi devices? Inquiring minds want to be nosey and know. 😂
