Ned Rush is an infotaining universe of ideas for ways to make music, including areas of music production, music composition, sampling, synthesisers and sound design in software like Ableton, MaxMSP, Reason, and on hardware such as eurorack modular, Elektron boxes like the Octatrack and Analog Rytm, also visual art strategies using Jitter, focusing on music genres such electronica, IDM, glitch, jungle, breakcore, electro-acoustic, musique concrete, as well as discussing music via interviews and podcasts, and music performances via livestreams.
You are a mad scientist. I love how you force me to consider outside the box thinking when working with Ableton. Thanks for all you do.
OMG! So good! This video helped me to rediscover purpose in life. And as always, very inspiring and depression-relieving to see such a creative use of Ableton. Ultimate cure for any blockages. Thank you Ned!
I couldn't have said it better myself
ya done did it again Ned 👏🏼
One trick that is very useful for this sort of thing is to fine tune the gain by figuring out where the threshold of feedback is then map that gain to a macro, and give a range of maybe 1-2db, so you can very carefully get just the very edge of the feedback and play it.
Hell yeah! It’s like have those robot-assisted surgical tools for extra precision 😊
@@NgaTaeOfficial Sorta. It's more like having a vernier adjustment so that you can catch the trailing edge of the feedback so that you can just barely starve it and catch the magic as it slowly degrades into something you weren't expecting.
4KING AMAZING...its like a LYRA 8 taking over skywalker ranch . Geniusstuff as usual Ned.
more interesting than a Netflix series
Famously, Ben Burtt fed back the output of an Eventide Harmonizer into itself to get a constantly rising tone for the sound of the x-wings in Star Wars. As they’re speeding down the trench their engine note is constantly rising adding tension.
This is gloriousness . . . I'll keep you updated as I watch (feedback lol)
lovely stuff Flanders
Helluva way to start off 2023!
The phaser part is gold!
these are always a blast
MAN! YOU ARE AWESOME!
Amazing as always. Thanks for the amazing content
Sick as always
I cannot thank enough to you all of these videos. Share such kind of deep knowledge to unknowns… 🙌✨

This technique will be INCREDIBLY useful for me in my sound design work. I'll definitely be trying it out tomorrow.
Weird robot alien buffet. ❤😂. Great vid, as ever Mr Rush. Wonderfully inspiring insight into the naughtier side of Live.
just as I was ready to sleep.... well, i guess im staying up
you're a legit genious mate
Thanks ned! long time viewer first time commenter. This sounds like you recreated Roland Kayn's music in ableton. which is impressive because i've never heard anything like his compositions. Thanks for being one of my favorite content creators! best wishes
Ok. Thankyou. I love you. The reason for using Ableton!
very love how sounds vocoder on low BW, its reminds me Qebrus music
Damn, I had no idea you could unlink the clip automation lane.. That is incredible useful
I always learn something new in this videos!!
These sounds will be great for my star wars pod racing fan film 🤓
You are a God.

Loved this one. Alien buffet all day

Sounds like you’re torturing a clanger :-)
TBF, those little fuckers had it coming!

Quelza likes this
Awesome! Then feed the resamples into forester!
This shit is fucking amazing!
Doctor Mad Rush on the ableton lab in action
I like your approach I like your voice and i like your jokes. I’m not gay but feel rainbow every time I watch new video
Why do you even have to convince everyone? 😂😂😂😂
"1960s laboratory shit" 😆
weird robot alien buffet
very excellent tutorial
I have one question for this - in the 29th minute when you record another resampling
you have two different audio tracks, I have two the same, where did I make some mistake?
Genial billow
My tip of the day: pitch your bass a few cents and see if it fits a little better. You just never know what 20 cents will do to glue a mix together.
11:00 So that's how autechre did the outro to acroyearii 🤔
Hi, n3D u r a 先生, did you make a video on the Vaexth technique?thnx
Daddy!
i didn't understand why in the beginning the operator was making different sounds when we added the reverb
I here there a lot of Star Wars space sounds .... and your creativity in abusing Ableton is unmatched, at least for people publicly showing what can be done.
It’s not abuse. It’s care.
sounds like earthbound
Going to draw a square wave with relatively quick ups & downs and see if I can make a nice percussive rhythm…..no interest in space ships landing and taking off.
do what you like champ
