- Oliver Jacobson is a music therapist at UCSF Benioff Children's Hospital. He visits patients at the bedside and uses music to ease a child's anxiety and work through any difficulties they encounter while being hospitalized.
I first saw this video several years ago and it instantly clicked with me. I was like “This!! I want to do this!!!” I went from someone who wanted to show off my talent to the world to someone who wanted to share it with those who may need it. My desire for that only grew as I began to struggle with a myriad of mental and physical health problems. Present time, I’m in college majoring in music therapy. Thank you for inspiring me.
Probably the most fulfilling job you can do if you love music and using it to help people.
I think this is amazing, it moved something inside, deep in my soul. For many years I was on a mindset of “I want to make good music because I am good, and I want everybody to know how skilled I am, and make money, get awards, get recognition and admiration”. Then I developed anxiety. And the only thing that helps me clear my mind of it is music. Now my mindset changed: now I think “I want to understand how music helps me, so THEN I can share it with the world and help others”. Man, oh man... that baby girl with her parents and nurse, and so soothed by the music ☺️ their gratitude it’s worth way more than any other fame and money I initially dreamed of.
My son is going to be a music therapist 🙏 He's graduating in June with his B.A. in music composition and then going to get his Masters in Music Therapy.
This was so beautiful. It reached right in to my heart and squeezed it. I am participating in Yoga Reaches Out for the 2nd year, and am very proud to help support these programs. Keep up this incredible work!!! Peace and love to you

I found music Thaperary on my own though when I was little I watched Barney the dinosaur and then when I was older I lessoned too Hunter Hayes song invisible the whole time it helped me with my pain and I was able too sleep at night
