    The Honda CBR600RR has been discontinued, just like the Ford Mustang and Chevy Camaro were for a time. Unlike those cars, every generation CBR600RR is a vastly superior performance machine. With a proper suspension setup any CBR600RR model can crush the newest Mustang or Camaro, even with a passenger perched on the pillion.

    I love the Dave Williams intros. It always looks like they just shook Dave awake at 2 in the afternoon. He threw some clothes on and then propped him in front of a camera and said "Dave read this."

    Dave Moss asked me to post to spread the good word. This is the only source of social media I am on though.
    We missed you on Saturday, Mr Williams. I was able to thank Dave Moss for all the tuning genius that he is sharing with everyone. I asked Moss to thank you, Williams, as well. You guys are awesome.
    I told Moss that I commented on a video a short while back. I believe it was the first of the three bears series. I mentioned that the videos are the class work. We take what we learn from the class and apply it to our bikes. When I go see Moss, that is the test to see how I have retained and applied the knowledge. I was, "very close" in my setting this past weekend. After only a year and a half of riding and studying Dave Moss Tuning, I am definitely happy to hear, "very close".
    Thank you guys again.
    I still side with Williams on the forks being easier to tune.
    Robert, '18 R6

    I heard true bottom out on a cbr600rr is 25mm or 20mm above the lip at the bottom of the fork tube? Can't remember which one, At least for an 05-06 stock fork. I have an 06 and i was told in the forums that i have to account for this.

    Hi Dave!
    I noticed that you dont measure when the bike is lifted up.
    1. You use only 2 different measurements, rider on the bike and rider off the bike?
    2. How do you calculate the correct millimeter using only these 2 measurements?
    3. I've watched one video of yours where you were teaching with R6 how to measure the sag settings. In that video you measure when the bike was lifted up also, but is that measuremet nessessary at all because you dont use that method in these videos, or did you just edited that part out?
    I have Kawasaki ZX-6R 2019. I have only 4500km with it. Everything is completely stock. I have huge problems with the feeling. Front tries to slide under me after certain point of turning (something like after 30% of lean angle), while rear tyre is jumping during the corners, specially in fast corners where speed is over 120km/h. Also the steering is super fast and the handlebar feels very loose. So I know that the settings are way too soft, just dont know how much. I ride like 80% street and 20% track. Even though I ride only 20% track I'm riding 2nd fastest group during trackdays.
    I havent touch the sag setting yet cos I got confused when you teached to measure also when bike is lifted, but still you only use rider on and rider off? So which is the correct way to approach when I'm gonna set my sags?
    Thank you!

      In the video I did not extend the forks as I use my knowledge/memory of what is extended for each bike. That saves a lot of time for me with many riders who are waiting. Rebound is too fast so the bike is out of balance. Set fork rebound to 3 turns from closed/maximum, then set compression to 3.5 turns from maximum. For the rear shock, set compression at 1 turn from maximum, rebound at 1.75 turns from maximum. Put a cable tie on the right fork leg to assess travel.

    • @joonasdahlin
      @joonasdahlin 4 роки тому

      @@catalystreactionsbw I understand. I will try those settings which you gave for me. And just to make sure, with the cable tie I can see where I'm at with preload settings? If the cable tie is fully down then my front is too soft?

    • @catalystreactionsbw

      If the preload adjusters do not function that is normally a broken preload spacer. One that spins indefinitely is separated from the cap. Both forks need to be taken apart and reviewed.

    I had my '05 rear shock serviced, that tin was put back, but fell out after the first ride. I just put a dust cap on if from my car's winter tires I had laying around :D
    Silly thing though, when I now change the preload on the shock the whole bottom turns right along with it. I have to keep it in place with a screwdriver to be able to make adjustments. Probably the two surfaces had corroded together, and came loose by the disassembly during service?

    • @catalystreactionsbw
      @catalystreactionsbw  5 років тому +1

      The problem is grit and dirt, so periodically the shock needs to come out and have the spring removed, components cleaned and reassembled. Then it works fine for a couple of years longer unless you ride in a lot of rain most of the time.

    • @catalystreactionsbw

      That is indeed from incorrect settings. 1. Check shock travel used (video on that topic). 2. Check compression and rebound settings. 3. Check tyre wear for confirmation.

    • @catalystreactionsbw
      @catalystreactionsbw  2 роки тому

      Most oil today is synthetic so no worries at all. It will over time become viscous to the point of being almost silly string like, so a ride to see how the forks behave is a good test. If bumps stay harsh, you know the oil is not loosening up.
