As much as I love Ethan's brilliant engineering and fabricating skills, I have never been so entertained by a Grind Hard video. Really brings me back to the old haggard garage days. Keep it up guys!

The turbo is upside down thats why you are getting a leak i build turbos for a living and the oil pump needs to be putting 2.5bar of oil pressure through the turbo but you need to put the turbo the other way round you have the oil drain at the top it needs to be be at the bottom
The small hole with the thread in the hole is your feed and the bigger hole with the two 10mm boltz either side is the turbo drain

You could use a bike brake reservoir as an oil header for the turbo save topping up so often

Im trying to build a power wheels similar to yours but 72v 3000w im wondering if its a bad idea to not get a steel body and just do a live axil moter battery and seatbelt it would be a dream to get your opinion on this
idk if you see this ,but my idea would be to make a caster wheel traction remover that would look like a short wheelie bar , the ideal build would have a lever to pull the wheels up and down with a shock probably , tunable drift sleeves that you can turn off with a lever , sorry I wanted to type it fast so you would see

The turbo centre section or (cartridge) is upside down and that’s why it’s blowing so much smoke. Also if you use the oil cooler adapter plate then never use a restrictor in the oil feed to the turbo because then you could be starving oil to the head.
Loved that you opened the door to test the quad, and the wind blew all the smoke back inside!

My favourite thing about this channel is the main guys fabrication skills it’s actually impressive. Watching these guys it’s just a comedy channel, not learning anything from them except for what not to do lmao
please make an electric snowmobile crosskart, have the battery stack over track on a servo operated swing arm.. so you can turn without leaning/tilt and do mean wheelies on the rear :D

I dunno if it’s something you guys already do but I think there’s definitely money to be made, making “generic” length brackets with the grind hard logo and hexagons in them. For people to use on their own projects. Even just bits of straight with M10/m8 holes people could make their own brackets from with the logo etc

Put the carburettor on the engine and give it the intake manifold from the turbo then it will make a lot of bost

Just assuming the "lol" conveys your despair.
Plenum volume doesn’t make a hill of beans in a forced induction engine. The rubber pipe was sucking in because the engine was requesting more than the turbo could give. Shortening the plenum volume and hot side only helped you. You need a much bigger turbo. That little thing is giving all it has and the engine is still wheezing. You can clearly tell when the boost gauge never goes to any positive vacuum meaning there is no positive pressure in the plenum even though it’s small enough a turbo the correct size would blow the intake valve open if you disabled the waste gate like you did on the current turbo.

You built an oil restriction, not an oil pressure regulator. Those are restrictions with an overpressure bypass. Without a bypass, you can only restrict so much
Love the videos guys but please balance out the music vs speech volume. There's so much back and forth between a few seconds of spoken words and then back to overly loud music it's a constant back and forth of volume up volume down while watching. But they are great videos!

I just read through hours of comments. I hope you see this. PUT THE EXHAUST TO THE OTHER SIDE OF THE TURBO. The only reason your getting more power now is because you put wheels 1/4 the size of stock.

Just get a 155 or 190 pit bike motor off tboltsusa. It will bolt straight into that little quad and have a 4 speed with a clutch with probably 12-20 hp which would be a crazy drift quad

Man I really miss the old videos. I know these guys have loads of energy and some people really enjoy them. But I prefer the quality, thought out builds, these guys give me a headache. Lol. Just an FYI, it burns oil because the Carb is pulling a vacuum on the compressor side of the oil seal that wasn't designed for vacuum.
They sell replacement seals that are designed for draw-thru setups for this exact reason.
Instead of a restricter for the oil you could use a PWM ,DC motor controller on the oil pump to regulate the speed of the pump and reduce oil flow. 😊

You have to make is as fast as hoomanly possible!, I'm glad it only took half of the video to figure out what I was going to say all along about the turbo, shorten up the pipe to the motor will more than likely work better. You don't have enough power in the engine to push through all of that pipe.
Can i just point out that the oil reservoir is insulated? So the oil is going to only cool off either very slowly or its going to only cool off while going through the pipes.... i mean i guess you do have a lot of oil and that is what a reservoir is for also you definitely need a larger radiator.
As a bmx rider that’s how we change grips, put a bar end on one side and smack the grip with your palm and it goes right on

Use the pump to pull the oil through the turbo. Have a small reservoir mounted above the turbo that the pump pumps into.

Intake pipe sucking closed is a function of the air velocity and restriction at the pipe inlet (the turbo). It oscillates as the intake valve opens, air rushes in, lowering the pressure in the pipe, then the turbo refills the pipe with air as the previous air charge exits the engine. Repeat for each cycle.

Put a T on the oil feed line and go back to the tank, add a big carb jet or something to restrict the flow if it doesn’t get enough oil. Put a restriction on the turbo side if it’s getting too much. 18:41

Hey Dudes,, Try a T-piece between the oil pump and the turbo,, feed it back to oil tank, that way oil gets to turbo and excess oil Tees back to tank when oil pressure into turbo is maxed. We used a boat fuel pump on our YZ125 shifter kart with similar principal for fueling. Also diaphragms were being destroyed in pump, so a 8mm hole in vacuum pipe helped save diaphragms by dropping its sucking pressure..
I made this exact turbo set up on a 140 mini bobber 5 years ago and I set up the oiling the same way “through the internal pump” and it smoked it still blew the seals
There is a safety lock or something that makes sure all the power doesn’t happen. You can adjust it, so just more power.😊

Instead of restricting the oil line you should put a bypass with a ball valve. Then you can adjust the amount of bypass allowed without adding load to your pump.
If you guys didn't know you can get inner radiator hose springs that will stop them collapsing like that.
old bicycle trick for installing rubber handles onto handlebars is using windshield washing fluid as a lubricant...
I just did some math, and if a million people downloaded the app, and Will was able to do 300 push-ups a day, 7 days a week, it would take over 9 years to do enough push-ups. He's not lying about being jacked in the end, at least on the push up muscles 😂
As a 91 B you can count on the following to be true regarding your M1123 and M1152:
Fluid (negligible)
Throttle linkage (questionable)
brakes (questionable)
CV joints (50/50)
Rear differential (a grenade in waiting)
Inability to hear when going over 55 (100% guarantee)
You need to make sure you have a negative crank case pressure. Oil gets to the turbo then gets whipped up into a foam and doesn't flow down the drain like you think. If you have any positive pressure in the engine, it's gonna keep the drain from draining. Less oil would be a temp fix and the turbo will probably fail. I'm not saying you don't need to restrict the feed. But if you restrict the feed to the point you aren't blowing oil past the seals, without fixing the crank case pressure. The turbo isn't getting enough oil. Run a vacuum line from the intake (pre turbo) to the valve cover with a one way valve in it and that will help pull down the pressure in the engine.
This video proves Ethan needs to be around at all times 😅 the massive transfer pump to move a tiny amount of oil was going to be a disaster right off the bat 😂
Finally, a quad that can deliver your packages before you even order them! Amazon Prime just got turbo-charged...literally!

You are going to need not less but more volume on the cold-side of the turbo. The sucking part comes from the engine sucking air in during the first stroke, that issue usually appears while turbocharging single cylinder engines, an air resovoir would be enabeling you to acutally generate some boost reliably ^^
With a little cutting and welding you could fit a 350cc Banshee engine will fit. Don't forget to lower it with kart wheels and tires

You need a high volume oil pump when running that plate on the head. I don't supply enough pressure to push through hoses.. ive built 100s of them pit bike engines from crf50 to the china special.

Hey guys, you should make a restrictior, or jet for the turbo oil feed line. Like a washer, a ferel, or whatever fits in the line.
This is going to super date me but Will driving the quad back and forth down the dirt road at around the 41ish minute mark reminds me of the opening from Bednobs and Broomsticks where Miss Price is driving the motorcycle into town and it smokes up the whole village square or when she leaves to take the kids home for the first time and it is nothing but a trail or smoke all the way home lol. The engine sounds sort of similar as well which is what I think made the connection for me.
When the boss has gone away the children will play.
