I have been working on an intricate logo for my website for just over 3 months now and have watched just about 143 videos. I happen to stumble on your video this evening and the way you visually present your videos and walk through each step in detail, I have finally been able to successfully complete and finalize our logo. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. If I would of found this video sooner, I would have not drank a few bottles of whiskey and stressed out as bad as I did. Thanks again.
I absolutely love that you are using freeware (and yay for Inkscape!) for your work, not commercial Adobe like the majority of designers. This helped me a lot when I was creating logo for school project, thank you so much.
#7:50 - wouldn't be easier to let the square in this orientation, center it with the other, increase the size and use it as cut to get exactly the same? nonetheless that's a great video of using inkscape :)
Hi :) your videos have really opened a new world for me! I never knew that making logos or creating a frost effect could be so much fun! Thank you for your amazing work, I learned so much from it :P
Hey Nick, where does your inspiration for logos come from? Do you have a back log of logo ideas that you pull from? Just trying to get a little bit of insight on your process 😅 best wishes man
Hi nick, i love your tutorials and i think they're really helpful learning to use inkscape, but is there any possibility you could do one or two illustrator tutorials with the same simple and clear descriptions as your inkscape tutorials? I love inkscape but i think illustrator is probably better to learn in the long run. Thanks
Great video only problem was this is my first time using inkscape and had to keep rewinding to find the correct button to click. If you slowed down a little that would help. Thanks for the video👍
Thanks Nick. Amazing tutorial. Is there an easy way to invert the black logo you did to white once we are done? or it is easier to simply start the same logo project in white from the beginning on a dark canvas? How would you do it?
Nick, love your channel man. I've learned new ways to do things for sure. I have a question/request. I notice you also use Blender. Any chance you could do a two part tutorial, maybe a three.. where you use Inkscape to create a simple logo, and then show how to use that to create an etched or cut inset version on various surfaces in Blender? Does that make sense?
I am a newbie with Inkscape I use with my MacBook. Your desktop doesn't look like mine but more like Affinity designer application... I wonder if the version of Inkscape you are using in your video change a lot of things when it's come about tools and layers management ?
Thanks a lot for this tutorial. I have a question regarding transparency : in Inkscape, white colour gets transparent when you export it to PNG. My point is : how do you export a white logo like yours in PNG?
what logo size do you use for website, social media and sticker printing? I designed the logo for my company but, now I'm having hard timing resizing it for different platforms.
Love your videos BUT, lol, your screen is too small and I cannot see the image choices you are clicking on especially at the top rows. Could you make the menu's so they are larger? Thanks, don't mean to be negative because your work and explanations are terrific! Thanks
Hey Nick, great tutorial I ran into a problem when I went to do the Pattern Along Path I cam out with a think bar not the segmented circle any suggestions?
You are a perfectionist, I'm looking forward to learning & using inkscape, but I want to design scalable game hud & ui. Just wondering, but is Inkscape legal to use commercially for free or would I have to pay a fee to use it commercially?
Thanks for the quick reply, I really appreciate it. I've never been an artist, but I'm hoping that's only because I'm not great with hand-drawing. I really hope vector graphics will be the type of art I'll be good at creating.
sir can u tell me the u r using mine is quite different im trying to get good qaulity tshirt designs with illustrator but its not at all good can u help with this.
I notice that when you make a new shape on the work board it keeps your opacity and color the same as you originally selected. Every time I add a new shape, it defaults to another color and full opacity. Is there a way to change this?
Google "free fonts" and choose a site like 1001 fonts. There are many good ones. When you see something you like the looks of, click it to open its own page and look in the details below for "free for personal use" and "free for commercial use". You have to have the commercial use permission. Best is when they define what they consider free commercial use, like t-shirts, mugs, etc. Just for safety, I never download "free personal use" only fonts. If I've downloaded them, they're safe and commercial use. I also hit ctrl-A, ctrl-C and put a copy of that page into my OneNote or Word so I can prove later that I have the commercial rights if questioned. I'm overly cautious against litigious predators who don't even own the font so you can probably skip the documentation part.
Hello Nick! I have a question, i don't use inkscape just gimp only atm, might be kinda dumb question, when you make something in inkscape can you later import to gimp and make thumbnail or header from it?
Eterno Games I'm not Nick hahhah, but you should export it as a JPG or PNG image, then you can import it to GIMP. The nice thing about vectors is that you can save them in any size you want.

You are improving my confidence, one tutorial at a time. Thank you so much! Your tutorials are the best!
Two days ago, I found this program and your tutorials, now I can make a logo for my company with ease, thank you very much, great work.
I really appreciate that this one is so complex, showing us so many techniques in one go. I'll be referring to this for a long time.
Another brilliant tutorial. Thanks for posting these. It just keeps getting more and more fun.
Great Work Nick. Every video I watch you slowly introduce something I haven't used or thought of before. Keep 'em rolling!
I'm always amazed why anyone would vote these down. Great tutorial!
I always learn something new from your tutorials. Great tutorial and keep up the good work.
Thanks for teaching us Nick! You`re an awesome teacher!
Amazing tutorial as always
I always learn something new watching your videos. Thanks much!
Awesome tutorials. So glad I stumbled upon them!
The intersection from 8:50 doesn't work in my project. What I get is cut pieces of squeres inside the logo.. What am I possibly doing wrong?
I have the same problem. Any solution?
You have to convert the circle to a path first. Click on the circle, then go to Path -> Stroke to Path
Thank you NIck
thanks nick.
This was excellent. I had to get an older version of inkscape (use 0.92.5); don't use 0.92.0 as it crashes when you use the path effects. Save often!
That's incredible and so inspiring!
That great! Thank you Nick
This is my favorite channel about Inkscape! I love it =)
At 19:11, why flip the circle horizontally? It works mysteriously.
this is best video ever
Quite the compliment haha, thanks.
Thank you for your amasing work!
always something to learn, thanks again Nick !
amazing work, thank you
This is an AMAZING video! I will follow and learn from your talent. Concise and straight to the point. Thank you!
Nice content! Keep it up!
Wonderful! Greetings from Bogotá, Colombia.
Great tutorials by such a talented person
Great stuff. Very inspirational. Good job Nick!

Not so loud but clear.. Like it!
Path- intersection (8:50) does not work for me. It creates pie slices when it should delete everything except the intersections.
@UCcUaATvZSHGh9lPECi1dECA I ended up restarting the whole project and resetting my settings and it worked
very helpful, thank you!!
Your channel is helping me a lot, thank you.
hi, I cant find the buttons at 0:49 :( Every logo tutorial needs these buttons
Hit Ctrl+Shift+A. It will bring up Align and Distribute.
I enjoyed the video, thank you! Clear explanations and nice result
Another excellent video. Thank you!
Looks great, I will try
I always wonder how 'array-like' pattern works in Inkscape. You are amazing.
Hey Nick, where does your inspiration for logos come from? Do you have a back log of logo ideas that you pull from? Just trying to get a little bit of insight on your process 😅 best wishes man
Hi Nick, your video was so helpful, thanks. I want to download again

Your intro music always makes me nostalgic for Bioshock.

Thank you👏
Thanks Nick!
My inkscpe stops responding after 10:30 :( help
I have exact the same Problem. But we are alone... ?!
Great video only problem was this is my first time using inkscape and had to keep rewinding to find the correct button to click. If you slowed down a little that would help. Thanks for the video👍
In view I don't have custom select option.? Is this will create issue?
Thanks Nick. Amazing tutorial. Is there an easy way to invert the black logo you did to white once we are done? or it is easier to simply start the same logo project in white from the beginning on a dark canvas? How would you do it?
Hi Kensley. You can just select everything and make it white.
Nick, love your channel man. I've learned new ways to do things for sure. I have a question/request. I notice you also use Blender. Unfortunately I don't know much about Blender. I just use it to edit video. Sorry.
Nick Saporito no worries Nick.
feels good

Amazing

The rectangular for the shaft of the arrow is only form at the angle in the middle

Great tutorial.
I have one question, my numbers change when i change to color. So they disappear. Can you help?
You are a perfectionist, I'm looking forward to learning & using inkscape, but I want to design scalable game hud & ui. Just wondering, but is Inkscape legal to use commercially for free or would I have to pay a fee to use it commercially?
Inkscape is completely free for commercial use. I've been doing so for years.
Thanks for the quick reply, I really appreciate it. I've never been an artist, but I'm hoping that's only because I'm not great with hand-drawing. I really hope vector graphics will be the type of art I'll be good at creating.

Question: Why does your version of Inkscape look grey ? @NickSaporito Great video btw
I notice that when you make a new shape on the work board it keeps your opacity and color the same as you originally selected. Every time I add a new shape, it defaults to another color and full opacity. Is there a way to change this?
Thanks!
I need your help
Quick question: What type of fonts could I use in my logo? I men, legally. Great videos btw

alright, thanks.
Yes absolutely. You can export it as a .PNG with a transparent background and place it into GIMP.
Thank you! :)
I'm working on a novice logo, everytime i hit combine everything disappears =/
