This works well with the Phillips Hue lighting and I use it to turn the lights on/off in zones during my movies. Programmed the color buttons for this function.
Very good detailed review! I like the Sofabatan a lot better than the old Harmony Elite, in fact, I don't like the Harmony at all, I don't know why it was so popular. There is something of a learning curve with any advanced remote like this. It's important to make sure you get the device set up the way you want before creating any activities with it. I setup some devices with, "no power switch" even if they have one and this has eliminated some problems with those devices. The NVIDIA Shield is one perfect example of this, it's a very unstable device in my experience and doesn't like being turned on with it's own power switch. I basically couldn't get the NVIDIA to work at all until I set it to have no power switch on the Sofabatan. The NVIDA basically only works if it turns itself on after connecting the power cable. Setting the Sofabatan to no power switch on the NVIDA solved it. Sofabatan tells me they will be compatible with Lutron lights soon which will help me with the theater main lights. My RGB lights however are controlled by Shelly control modules so it will likely be awhile before I can use the Sofabatan for those. I'm not sure what Hue offers that I could use with existing RGB lights, I don't think they offer controllers, just lights with controllers built in. Am I wrong about this, do they have controllers for my existing RGB lights that would work with the Sofabatan?
I have the BenQ HT3550 and it also has issues with the IR signal going through a blackout curtain. On my Anthem AVM70 I have trouble switching source inputs as on my remote I have to press the source button first, then use the arrows to scroll through the inputs. I still need to play with it a little more. Thanks for sharing.
Still using my +20 years old Philips Pronto programmable remote. Use the macros to turn everything on and to the right input. Best $400 I ever spent! I have the same projector as you, good but not great, but unbeatable at the $1300 I paid for it.
When setting up an activity and switching inputs on your receiver, would you have to edit that activity if you later changed the name of the input on the receiver to a personalized input name?

Agreed it works with the lights. I wish it could be included in a start/stop sequence. Maybe in the future?
Thanx for a honest review. God work
Thanks!

Good points. I’m not aware of any Hue controllers for non-Hue products…
I’m use a SofaBaton u2 and I like it
Excellent!

Of course

Agreed - performance at this price point is hard to beat

No I don’t believe so. The sofabaton maps to a buttton on the original receiver remote, which wouldn’t change if the input is renamed.
