Watching your review and find the questioning on setting the power on/off configuration. This is the most perplexing part for me. I would have though that you would have backed up and demonstrated what you had to do to get the on/off setting setup for use.
Nice video, as I've been considering this remote. Some questions, though: -- When configuring your Sony TV, the power settings in the configuration weren't intuitive. What did you have to do in order to configure it properly? (Same thing with your A/V receiver). -- Approximately how long did this setup take you, from start to finish? -- Did you have to contact Sofabaton support with any questions? -- My setup will be a simple one, but a bit different than yours. My equipment consists of a Cox Communications cable box, an LG soundbar, an LG TV, an Apple TV 4K Gen 2, and an LG DVD player. The one device I'm concerned with is the Cox cable box, as my old Harmony (before it died) system had trouble finding it in their database.
Hi, thanks for the comment and questions, and for watching. For my TV and the AV Receiver, it was NOT intuitive to set up the power on/off, it should be. This is my ONE complaint. I selected has "power on and power off" buttons (although it doesn't), and it seemed happy with .5 seconds hold time. This was trial and error, I tried several other settings first, like immediate, and only one power on/off button etc. For the AV receiver I had to get the placement of the IR cable just right or it would not work. I have had a chance to play around more with it and found it is really nice remote, and I after getting used to it, it has replaced all the things I was doing with my Harmony, including integration into my Apple Home and setting light scenes etc. First time through I spent about 30 minutes, and that was without really any help, just fiddling with it and trying things out to see what it did. I did not have to contact Sofabaton support for initial support, but I have contacted them a few times for their HTTP API Webhooks so I could figure out how to set it up to control my Apple Home, and have my Apple Home control it. If you have the COX remote, you can use that to train Sofabaton, if it does not find it right away.
@@GYATEZ Thanks for the (super fast!) reply! Before trying to train the Sofabaton with my Cox remote, I'm going to try contacting Sofabaton and see if they can either point me to or send me a list of the Cox cable boxes in their database.
I'm not sure. There were rumors a year ago they had beta X1S, but that never materialized. They did tell me that they had a new product launching in March 24 (this month), but I've not seen or heard anything more.
Well.... I got a U2 and it has glaring issues with tranmit duration and most of the buttons they set up for anything more than basic functions are wrong. Not a product that is totally ready.
I hear ya! It does require quite a lot of trial and error to get working. I can't get it to set any of my 2 year old Sony TV's inputs, I've tried everything. Been back and forth with Support for a week now, and no solution yet. It should not be this hard and the product needs some refinement for sure.
I got it today, and it is going back. I had the same problem with the power setup, but I never got it to work. Like you said they use very strange terms that don't make sense. They tell you to watch the video, but fail to give a link to it. I gave it all morning, but that's all the time I will give it. The manual is useless. Also I hate the ergonomics. There is no way to select a channel from my cable TV. You have to select it from the cable guide which means scrolling through hundreds of channels. I tried to select the individual numbers, but that did not work. This is basically a POS. I bet they have at least a 50% return rate. I have an old Harmony 900, but it is getting unreliable, and I couldn't get it to work with my new Sony receiver. This shouldn't be that hard...PS: I like your video!
Hi, hey thanks for watching, much appreciated. Yeah, I finally had to abandon it as well. I never got the inputs to work on my 2 year old Sony TV, so it became unusable. If I could get that working, I'd stick with it because when my Harmony dies, there is no other choices really. This product is NOT really ready for prime time yet, but I think there is hope as it matures and gets better. 🤞
Hi John, they are currently $189 on Amazon or SofaBatons website. If you use the links in the description in the video you’ll get an additional 10% off, at either site. You’ll need to use the discount code in my description if you want to buy it straight from them directly. Let me know if you have other questions, I’ve got a lot more experience with it now and figured out a few things. Thanks for watching!

Best wishes, hopefully it’ll have all your inputs and things you need. It should be good 👍
Will 3 of these work in the same house? I need them for more than one room. Thank you.

Good call, they seem to work at off my regular daytime hours and I usually get replys from them late at night. Best wishes!
Anyone know how to setup the play/pause button? I can only get it to map as play or pause, so it does one or the other, not both.
What is X1S?

@@GYATEZ It includes an App. Hardware is identical to the X1
