  • 2013-"The line boss had told the treater to shutdown and he was about to when the company man said stay in it. The line boss saw it leaking on the 3.5 pins sand and said it would blow because he had seen it before. When they hit flush and all the sand was clear of the pipes it blew -that's why he was filming it. The line boss new what was going to happen. There were 18 pumps on location.

I work for a major manufacturer of that iron. That's why proper installation and maintenance are so important. I've seen directly, or the after-effects of 5 iron separations under pressure. 1 fatality and 1 injury.

They probably saw a drip and were trying to flush it. They obviously didn't make it

I used to do pm's on all frac equipment: pumps, tractors, blenders, anything on site with an engine. Some hands didn't tighten the collar right on a pump hose routing to the missle and we were righting down our equipment hours and the test ran everything on the line, that hose blew off and was spraying so hard it whipped that hose with what a 40 lb. Collar slaping against everything and blew out 1.5 water before they got it shut off. I was talking with the frac treater and as soon as it blew i shoved him out of its path since his back was facing it and army crawled under the pumps to the other side and made it out the line before he did. He was drenched. Man was he pissed.

Seen a guy get a diesel can of fuel you know a safe plastic one and had it right by the data van and of course ignited from all the static and instead of getting the extinguisher thats on the front of every tractor he kicked under the data van and it was just flaming away, had to evacuate everyone in the data van while others put it out.
