I've had a long history of using and owning Korg instruments going back to the mid 80s. I'm a fan… but this is just embarrassing. Aftertouch has been a feature of most Korg synth models since the mid 80s and the decision to not include it on the Nautilus was surprising to say the least… but to introduce it now and make a big deal out of it like aftertouch was just invented this year is disingenuous at best.
This has been a test of how chintzy can a company make a synth and still call it a flagship. Surely endorsers have panned the Nautilus as the best currently available.
Their reason was based on deep structured marketing studies, in connection to their internal sales accounting, in comparison to their all other models of instruments. They released the first Nautilus with lower cost in mind, to appeal to more people. Since then, feedback showed that people will be interested in an AT Nautilus.
I generally like (and own: I have an original Wavestation EX, Minilogue XD, and Kross 2, for example) Korg’s products, but I’ve got to agree that AT shouldn’t be touted as this amazing new feature on one of their boards; it should have been there from the jump with a supposedly flagship-type of product. This along with the 61-key Wavestate and OpSix are other examples of questionable thinking and marketing/repackaging.
@@jamescarlburg5403 I started with the Yamaha DX7 II FD in the mid 80ies, also with aftertouch. I warmly welcome KORG to the "brand new" technology heaven with the "new Aftertouch". Learned from the best!!! Only lasted about 45 years to implement it. ;-)
I wish I was in charge at Korg. In 2024 we would see a recreation of the PS-3300 modular and a Polysixteen with the look of the Polysix but with sixteen voices, multitimbral and modern effects from Korg's multi effects units.
Yes, the one thing a video doesn't show is how hard you have to press the keys to control AT. I LOVE using AT and hate how my Kronos's AT is really unusable. No matter how much you work with the sensitivity, you still have to press too hard for it to by usable. I've given in and use my foot pedal now set to JS+Y so I can affect vibrato and such using my foot while keeping my hands on the keys.
I think that - maybe, not sure - the aftertouch in the past instruments didn't have options like adding an Arpeggiator : 2:48, or controlling the Filter : 3:56, or increasing the octave : 4:59. In the past, I think it only added effects.
I can't understand why you can't make a 73-key or 76-key version of the AT as well. Aren't you interested in having your instruments bought by keyboardists for whom 88 keys is just too many and 61 keys not enough? Why? It's not just the number of keys. It's also about the size and weight of the instrument, of course.
Oasys is the best keyboard of all time , hands down. we can not see anything like that in the future ! just see what they did with Nautilus AT , they are using intel main board like they used in Kronos and cheap Plastic, and they are removing all the buttons they can including the Touch pads, Korg had to simplify Karma Software and implemented in the new line up with capability to produce custom GE inside the keyboard, if anyone in Korg see this please hear us , we want to see Oasys 2 one professional keyboard with tilting display , you are going in the wrong direction with Nautilus , please bring back the king we want to see another "Return of the King"
Actually, I am very happy with Kronos. It seems that the made the interface blueish, but is seems the same. Also, massive reduction of assignable buttons seems backwards. They should check their marketing people who think that aftertouch is groundbreaking new.
I know it's weird to have aftertouch described as a "new" feature in 2023 when in reality it's been around for decades, but you must remember that the Nautilus could be some people's very first workstation (It will be my first one when I get around to purchasing it), so they might not be familiar with aftertouch and would like to see how it works. Just putting that out there.
1. Please stop calling this downgraded keyboard a Kronos Successor or a Flagship keyboard. This stands in between Krome and Kronos 2 2. Why you guys even made this keyboard rather than making a proper successor to Kronos 2, with updated looks inspired by the sidelines of PA5X? 3. How come Korg launching a flagship without AT and relaunching as a new model with AT. Poor execution Korg.
roland is even booring then this .. they add in fantom vst of old boards i mean ??? did new board is new cause it give new tech sound way better ? but noo they re use old 80 90 samples in 2023 board wow like korg did reinvent kronos 2 with new name ...
@@SonicVibe me too but that should be free in new board ,like hint of old times not to be pay stuff ,and board dont have nothing new sound wise ,it sound like well old boards
Keyboards are getting WAY to complicated - and aftertouch is as old as Brian Eno - as some commentators have mentioned - music has been so stagnant for decades - technocrats ruin everything 😢
My God, the piano sounds like the one at my grandmother's house, all out of tune. And the synthesizer like the one in my town's orchestra. In the 80's, they sounded better! And this is in 2023? Turn off and let's go!
Korg is stupid. AT. Should have been a feature avalbile in the original natulus. AT has been in keyboards since the 70s! The fact that they decided to remove it then add it back it's a stupid decision that makes no sense.
Give us the next kronos please. Thank you.
Thanks to KORG for the excellent Nautilus!
It’s HIGHHHHH Time , KRONOS 3 Please …. Huge fan of Korg 🙌

The new Nautilus AT's ground breaking feature: Now with black keys between most of the white ones.
My Yahama DX7 had aftertouch in 1983.

Can't wait until the SE machines hit under $1000 ... then I definitely will consider one of them...
A brilliant instrument. And an amazing performer 👏
Noooooooooo!!!
That’s incredible invention!
Wowwowwowwowwow!!!!!!!!!!
Aftertouch: it’s New!🤣😂
Take it easy there bro, this is special "AT" aftertouch with that special non polyphonic, non MPE magic.

Channel Pressure on a synth in 2023 - Wow... Let's party like it's 1999, or maybe 1977 (CS80) ....
My ELKA MK88 had Polyphonic Aftertouch back in the 80's and I still use it today.
The banshee patch was amazing
Is it possible to add the aftertouch to a previous 73 key model Nautilus? 🤔
Yes for 400 dollars they say.
Not on the 73 models, even as an add up. Such disappointment.
Waiting for a Kronos x M3 Model 🙌🙌🙌
Whats the difference in the gray one besides color?
Except for the color of the chassis, I think they are the same. 🤔
Corais femininos e masculinos ?
Please korg, Make an aftertouch upgrade kit for 73 keys model. Don’t left us 73 buyers.
Oh my… Aftertouch. Did you forget that the feature has been standard on KORG for 30 years, huh?

Does the Raw Piano Sample change in sound with After Touch?
Does it not have model 73???
Only the 61 and 88 key versions come with the AT variant.
So is this the new flagship Korg?
Amazing!
is it easier to play instrumentals at speed on a keyboard korg nautilus 73 or korg nautilus 88 nt? thank you
Yamaha Genos inspired rear panel boat design
Neh, I was kinda thinking aftertouch was the only way to go but after listening to some demos I'm not convinced I need it
Amazing keyboard. Can someone tell me if the silver bottom silver color of the keyboard is metal or plastic? Thank you
Metal bottom

Does Korg still use the KARMA arp type of function?I know its ancient but that function was a arp on steroids.
Korg gone nuts. Re-introducing after touch after 50 years. I mean WTF
🥱
I'm still waiting for a Kronos 3. I won't bother with a Nautilus.
Great🎉! I like korg
kronos 3 ✅
kronos name is dead they call kronos ex nautilus and kronos 2 nautilus at ,all same all same
And about mono and poly aftertouch???? 😅😅
Thank you, Taiki Imaizumi ! ... Korg is doing a very elegant and fine job, with all instruments, especially with this new Nautilus.
new ?
@@MrCcfly yes, new. meaning : it's the new production series, with the added AT. Possibly with an updated version.

Kronos 3 please 🙏🙏🙏🙏no me agrada nautilus

Please, Korg release a Kronos 3 and come back with all the physical controles and a big screen better than this Nokia 2280 in the Nautilus.

As for me. it sounds very unnatural, plastic sound, metallic. it is better to take Pa4X
