I have owned one and may say I understand the philosophy / history well as European. My take is the Porsches ability to sustain the legacy of making great sport cars in general. I understand the criticism but if you really think the current automotive industry/ Porsche seems to be the only one making progress and profit year in /out. I am soooo happy that they have kept both the legacy line as well as the most advanced variants as well. ❤
With adding the fight for the e-fuels and keeping the manuals alive, they seem to be trying to keep the past alive, while also forging ahead with the future.

Really good video. Always appreciate videos that bring a lot of interesting information to the content. I have been in the process of buying a 917, so it will be good to experience the handling of a mid-engine car. My only experience with a rear-engine vehicle was the '64 Beetle I owned many years ago. Have to admit, even that was fun to drive.

Also, I’m a fan of the classic VW’s. I had a 1959 Type 1 that I daily drove for a while. Not the fastest car, I actually got pulled over once and the officer told me I needed to go faster or drive on the side road. The speedometer didn’t work and said I was going 80, but he clocked me at 45 on the freeway. Still it was a ton of fun to drive.

Thanks for sharing your experience. I will say that the newest GT3 RS as well as the 991 version does stand out a bit more, so makes sense. They are beautiful cars and enjoy it as often as you can.

You need to change your title, because everyone has discussed the fact that 911s have the engine in the rear, which is not the optimal place for most aspects of performance driving.
Fair point. I’ll rework it again (I’ve had a few working titles and working on getting it to a good title that is also clickable.
