      @BadGoy as also, she could not raise 9 generations .....she is one generation.....the one after her is the second generation no matter how many times she delivers cubs......NOW, her offspring and their descendants may be in the region and have produced 9 generations, but she would REALLY be rare if somehow she did that herself.......

    The fact that someone kept track of the amount of generations rear by a particular wild hyena at a remote ruin in a middle of a desert for 15 years is just pure dedication.

      @@AlisCave These Hyenas are a protected species and for years are part of a Safari tour and have been studied and looked after for many many years so they know exactly her movements and problems etc.

      Spoiler alert: She moved to LA to be closer to her agent and further her acting career. Unfortunately there hasn’t been a lot of work for ‘ageing Brown Hyena’ parts since this BBC documentary, but her agent is hopeful that she can get an audition for the next Madagascar movie...

    I watched this full episode the other night and I cried. The loneliness and the will to survive in these beautiful creatures is amazing and sad. A Mother’s love is unmatched. The lengths she travels just to feed her babies ❤️

      Brown Hyenas mostly scavenge carrion or hunt smaller prey like seal pups, rabbits, and rodents. Their success lies in that they are actually omnivores, so they could also eat shrooms, vegetables, and plant roots if food becomes really scarce.

    Unbelievable.... Heard and seen ghost towns in China, around Chernobyl and even India. But this is the first ever ghost town seen from Africa.

      Alot of African countries are developing. Most country on the continent where growing fast had a civil war and now have to go back to redevelopment often somewhere who's somewhat recent memories aren't plagued with the thought of death and suffering. I'm happy they are growing past that.

    The music, narrator's voice, cinematography...everything is just choreographed in a pleasantly eerie way....it's like someone's idea of an apocalyptic lonely earth!!

      Nature is not anyones property. And how can it be your pride when for decades people push more and more animals to extinction? Do you contribute to nature? Or just exploit?

      Instead of spitting venom and making a fool of yourself like you just did, you should've asked me first to elaborate what I meant by what I've said. If you were familiar with Namibia then you could have understood the meaning of my statement. But seeing as you ain't, I won't blame you. Maybe a lil research and then you can come back here?

      And I'd love to hear that you contribute to the welfare of Namibias ecosystem. The majority don't. The majority of people exploit it.
      And please don't argue that you live there and I don't. One needs not live in a place to understand it's macro statistics (habitatloss, decline of species, clearing of forests etc).

      yeah... this is so saddening. I don't usually root for predators, but... it's not their fault that they've been drafted at the top of their food chain and have to kill to survive. And seeing this female search food over a 20 miles distance each day is saddening to me. Meanwhile, I am eating whatever I want, whenever I want and while watching youtube and I still complain that life is hard. That's just not fair :(
