My favorite part of Colorado! Live right there in the resort town for a few years but didn’t start hunting by then. I’m definitely gonna go back and try to get one someday
That little western town is not a movie set. That is a playground for a millionaire he has a house over in Aspen area and flies by helicopter over the mountains to get there and plays in is very own western town... That is all private land where you are at there... so you must have trespass fees paid....
Ahhh yes! The high/ low proposition. Can you find elk in lower elevations. Yes and no. The question is : are you close to private property? If so and there's a ton of it in Colorado they'll be hanging out there after the first push.
@@bonehunteroutdoorsman7223 it’s like this... Elk were originally a plains animal. Man drove them into the mountains. Elk will usually go higher up a mountain as they get pressured! It also depends on where you’re hunting! Where I mostly hunt, you can only get about 7,500 ft anyhow. Elk are gonna be where they are! Sounds funny, but if they’re not pressured, you can absolutely find them lower! They also prefer to sleep on flat ground. When hunting midday, find little flat knobs. They love them! Makes them feel safe as the wind blows up at that time in their face! That’s when you come from above and do your thing! Good luck!🍀
2018 I found elk 10,000' & higher, 2019 at 8700'-9300',,, 2020 I seen a bunch of elk at 7500'.. This year they'll be in the prairies...... Don't waste your $ on bear tags in CO. Come to Wisconsin for bear - ours are the size of small grizzlies !!!!

There's actually quit a few elk in the prairie lands of Colorado, east of I-25, trouble is, most are on private & hard to get access

That's cool to here! I like hunting lower elevation but everyone I talk to always say to go high! Maybe cause all the bulls are down low! Lol
