    Thanks Jarod, the 2 rivets actually broke when pulling the clips, I replaced both with 1.5 inch screws with lock nuts. A bit long but can be cut down with a Dremel. Good video!

    One of the rubber feet on my crock pot fell into the same place and I couldn't figure out how to remove it! Thanks for posting this, it really helped!

    You are an absolute champion! Tore my crock pot model apart using your method and fixed it within ten minutes. The metal tabs were a pain and ended up shearing off about 3-4 millimeters (3/16") of the aluminum rivet end but I was able to get it all back together with a little bit of sneakiness and reforming the tab. Saved me $120 CAD instead of buying a new
    "Crockpot - Choose-A-Crock Programmable Slow Cooker" (the one with 3 different sized stone wares). I hope you have an amazing year and your meals all turn out great!!! Seriously!!!!!

      how did you end up repairing yours without those holders or... you drilled the rivet and just re-used those clips with a new rivet?

      Glen Leslie - I used small bolts in place of the rivets.

      @@MrScottFletcher I was thinking of doing that but wondered what safety issues that might introduce if the bottom of the element somehow builds up moisture?

    • @danielgoodman3578
      @danielgoodman3578 Рік тому

      @@glenleslie6869 there shouldn't be a moisture issue anymore than with rivets because it's all outside where the food is cooking (inside the ceramic or w/e insert).

    THANK YOU!!! 2 of the 3 rubber feet are missing and there's something rolling around my crock pot. I'm past warranty but can't afford a new one and don't want to have to replace a working machine if it's a simple fix.. but also don't want to attempt to cook continuous broth with parts loose inside, especially if it's the rubber feet (which I'm hoping it is!)
    Thank you so much! I'm going to attempt this right now. Can't believe they haven't fixed this issue, as I see it is a common problem. Mine is a Rival, but basically the same build as yours.

    Thanks. Same model, same problem. I thought of throwing the thing in the garbage and, to be honest, I might still do that. I also have an Hamilton Beach and I never had any problem with it. But this Crockpot, on top of having loose parts, seems to overheat at "low" setting. I thought the loose part might be related to the overheating problem but it seems it's not.
    Anyway thanks for the help.

    So are the screws OK in there? Do they affect anything? It not, I'm going to leave them where they are. I've used mine 3 times and this happened. Seems like a pretty common problem that shouldn't be one in something that's made to heat up. I contacted support and if I don't like their answer I'm returning this and getting a Ninja.

    Great video.... helped me overcome my hesitation to pry those clips off the rivets on the bottom. I was sure that was going to destroy. One them was almost destroyed but eventually bent it back enough to hold again. What are those rivet holders/caps actually called? searched all over the place and could not find them. Lots of "tubular rivets" but they all expecting you to flare it in place.
    in any case, the feet on mine had fallen off and the screw was running around inside there. popped it off as you showed and put a small bit of thread locker down in the tip of the plastic foot with a screw of slightly larger shank than than the tiny originals. back to cooking on an even keel.

    • @glenleslie8140

      the fasteners are called "push nuts" or push nut bolt retainers... I guess they're not easily defined. big box hardware store has a few in standard sizes... no idea of the size of those rivets but at least I now know what to look for if one of these falls off.
      I was thinking that I might replace one of the rivets with a bolt as a "Plan B"... i think the hollow rivets are there in case liquid gets into or builds up in the space under the heating element... it has a way to come out...
