- In this video I take a look at the Solid Cutz STR 001 Axis Stabilizer for the Numark PT01 Scratch and REV 01 platter. This stabilizer is an addon for the Solid Cutz PT01 Scratc platter that makes it more stable and prevents wear and tear, but is it worth it?

Video quality on point
Thanks for the feedback! Been putting a lot of work into my video production. Appreciate the kind words! 🙏
Great Video , CK! I just installed mine last week and I think it makes a little difference. However, I think it does prevent long term damageand perhaps aggressive turntablism :) I couldn't find any videos on the STR001 before yours, so you made the mark.
Also, I totally get the upgrade value. I've pimped out my PT01S and there's still more to do it. Ultrapitch is next
Thanks for watching! Ultrapitch is on my list also. The one I saw in the Facebook group that looks like a 1200 slider is bae. haha
DJ Couch King yeah that looked pretty cool! The one I bought is from portablismgear.com
I’ll check it out, thanks!
I fitted one of these, but I ended up removing it again. With it fitted I could hear a lot of wow and flutter. I used the rpm app on my iPhone to check and this confirmed the issue. I’m not sure if this was due to the way I fitted the stabiliser - it could have been a tiny bit off centre. I might try it again, but I’ll probably fit it with the turntable upside down so it’s perfectly centred to see if this makes a difference.
According to Solid Cutz the ring on the bottom of the stabilizer prevents misplacement. I think the PT01 motor in general has that issue, but I only really use it for scratching so it's not a big deal IMHO.
I bought one of these and the platter is heavy and slow and lags when scratching. I’m planning to return mine.
All these mods are a rip off. Most of them cost just as much as the deck. Why can't they just implement that into the the rev01?
They definitely should be sold as a package deal for sure. I notice a huge difference now that I've had it for a while though. Ot is expensive, but it's really well made. I took my portable to a New Year's party to use with a Serato controller and it worked awesome for the whole night.
@@DJCouchKing I have no doubt that it performs like a champ.. I guess I'm just salty because I've spent 3x the cost of the actual turntable and it's still not enough. Still more mods needed and more money to dish out on overpriced thingamjigs. It is what it is.
DJ Couch King what differences did you notice?
Infinity platter is so much better. I had one of these on my last PT01 and now I’m happy to see the Infinity really does eliminate any play and that’s why Solid Cuts made this imo.
