Love seeing these stations being kept alive! I inherited mine, it was built in 1979. So its a good 20years older then me ^^ I need to get new tips though, and since I do mostly SMD soldering. Am considering the PT-LT adapter. Do you have any experience with that?
@@dark1stu got the PT8-LT adapter a week ago. Together with the "LT-1X" tip, which is a 30° bend. And I am LOVING it! Soldering 0605 bicolor SMD leds was a blast :D. And the temperature seemed high for me at first. But it worked great with lead free solder!

Another good video but i found it hard to see at times as it's so dark.

no i have not , i use a later iron my self but i have a lot of mates use the tcp
