I bought a moba controller that has a clip that holds my phone on top of the controller , bought it off amazon makes aiming so much smoother and accurate

Your character automatically faces the same direction you casted the crystal, so just holding down beam (tap and hold, don't drag) right after dropping crystal should make you automatically aim the beam at it.
