  • For most pilots, flying around the world is a distant dream. For Matthias Niederhäuser and Robin Wenger, that dream is a reality! Beginning in Switzerland, these pilots are circumnavigating the globe in the Jet-A burning, FADEC-controlled, carbon fiber Diamond DA50 RG.
LifeStyle Aviation is a proud supporter of Diamondo Earthrounding and their mission to raise awareness for sustainable aviation initiatives. In April 2022, we were honored to host Matt and Robin at our Raleigh, NC (RDU) headquarters. Enjoy this synopsis of the event!

    ABOUT THE DIAMOND DA50 RG
Diamond Aircraft's DA50 RG is the platform of choice for Diamondo Earthrounding.
The jet fuel capabilities of the Continental Aerospace Technologies CD-300 engine allows the DA50 RG to be fueled up close to everywhere. On top, it runs more fuel-efficiently when compared to conventional AVGAS-burning piston engines, saving many gallons of fuel along the way! Jet fueled engines have much lower emissions compared to leaded and even low leaded aviation fuels. Pilots save many gallons of fuel and money as the aircraft will burn up to 50% less at equal power. Travel also becomes easier as jet fuel is globally available!
The fully integrated Garmin G1000NXi flight deck with standard 3-axis GFC700 Automated Flight Control System and yaw damper and Electronic Stability and Protection, is complemented by a long list of avionics options to perfectly suit your mission. Available are Traffic Alerting, Synthetic Vision, and much more. The Line Replaceable Units (LRU’s) are located in a dedicated and externally accessible forward avionics bay, for ease of maintenance and trouble shooting.
The DA50 RG is available for order at LifeStyle Aviation. DISCOVER MORE at our website: lifestyleaviation.com

Gorgeous, but way too much competition in that price range

Yes!! Thank you! That’s my problem with the DA50. Absolute beautiful plane but the performance envelope and the acquisition price just doesn’t make it a practical platform for any commercial operation. The DA50 is like the Miata of airplanes. It seems like all of Diamond aircraft suffer from the same overpriced anemic issues

I guess I have to buy one now that I've stated it's the next upgrade from my Lance. 😁😅

How loud is it in the cockpit? In my Piper Archer, I could fly without headphones and talk to people almost as easy as talking in a car traveling on the interstate.

A bit louder than the Diamond Austro engines, but that's expected since the engine is so much larger (and the Austros are VERY quiet to begin with). Comparable to the Archer from our experience.

@@LifeStyleAviation Have you ever measured the dB level of your craft?

Eine sehr schöne und Moderne Flugmaschine , doch einfach leider viel zu teuer ! Das Teil können sich nur Millionäre Leisten und sicher keine normale Motorfluggruppen .
